top soil, peat, sand, cow manure/compost!

the soil in my spots is all different so...if its wet poor draining soil ill mix in some peat and sand with a little cowmanure/compost. if its sandy ill throw in some top soil a little peat and cow manure/compost. to every hole i use chicken shit fertilizer and some lime.

half the hole will stil contain native soil so i only spend like 30-40 bucks on soil and stuff for 25-30 plants and i dont have to haul around expensive bags of soil everywhere. you can get a bale of peat for about 10 bucks and it lasts me 2-3 years, top soil is $1/ 40lb bag, cow shit 1.50/40lb bag, sand (i usually dont need much) i get from sand tubes i have layin around, prolly only a buck or two anyway, chicken shit $6/9lb bag (last a whole season), lime $5 bucks.

its just too hard and expensive to use a ocean forest like product to guerrilla grow, one $40 bag of somethin like that will only fill one or two of my holes, and animals dig the shit out of it. so 30 plants 1/2 bag per hole 15 bags @$40 = 600 bucks, i save about $550 ammending native soil and all is fine.

"grow big" is a synthetic chemical nutrient (read the label) dont know why you would use that in ocean forest? on the east coast around my area ocean forest goes for high 30.00's almost 40 with tax. im not sayin its bad stuff at all, i might use it indoor or in my backyard or somethin, but theres no way i would drop that much for a gurrilla grow, and it doubles if not triples the work load, plus animals love to tear shit like that up!

Ocean Forest® is a powerhouse blend of premium earthworm castings, bat guano, and Pacific Northwest sea-going fish and crab meal. Composted forest humus, sandy loam, and sphagnum peat moss give Ocean Forest® its light, aerated texture.

i would not use anything with fish and crap meal outside unless you want a bunch of animals lurkin around diggin shit up, so other than that all it really has is earthworm castings and bat guano as far as nutrients. i substitute them with cow manure and chicken shit wich is 1.50 40lbs of cow manure and $6 bucks for chicken shit. and for composted forest humus, sandy loam, and peat moss, i use peat that only cast me $10 a bale, sandy loam is basically brown dirt that ya walk around on, and composted forest humus is decomposed wood and leaves wich i can find in the woods, or you can buy it for 1.50 a 40lb bag.

if you take the time to read labels and mess around with ammending native soil you can save yourself some serious dough, and you wont be sweatin your balls off drangin overpriced bags of soil around all spring!

p.s tiger bloom is not fully organic either, i have the whole 7 or 8 bottle line up, and the one that is 100% organic is big bloom, EJ grow is 100% organic veg tho.
