bout time to start a new gro ..question is with these new ebb and gro 12 site buckets with the 55 gallon resorvoir are they really the best route to go for a soil guy on the switch to hydroponics.. is it worth it,, cant find any decent info on it..

well, im currently in a 1/2 soil, 1/2 ebb-flow grow, 8 each... Ebb and flow is probably the best to transition to, when switching from soil. Ebb-n-flow requires the least amount of maintenance in my opinion, compared to DWC/bubbles, aero, and drip systems. The main advantage I've seen between my hydro and soil grows are that the plants the ebb-flow system generally grow about 15% quicker, and with less inter nodal stretching, allowing for denser and shorter plants yielding the same amount. They also allow for you to grow your plants closer together, because they arent limited by the soil's rooting capabilities.. much smaller buckets hold many more roots than the larger buckets used in soil, allowing for HUUUUUGE growth.

I agree with sinn. It is one of the easiest. but personally i went with DWC my first grow. I found it easier for me to hook up a DWC with what i had laying around. All you really need is some buckets and an air pump, At least i started with that. i got decent results as well. you can always get more technical but if its your first hydro start simple and try a few things out. expect to kill a plant or two just messing around tunning but soon after expect the sweetest buds you've every smoked

Ive been thinking about getting an ebb and grow simply for the fact that there is one reservoir to deal with. Ive been using drip tables, with stunning results, but I have a different res for each table which is a bitch when it comes to draining them out.

From what I can tell, no matter which type of hydroponics you go with the end result is pretty much the same...massive yield. I have one friend that is all aero, another that is all ebb and flow, and myself drip, and we all seem to have similar results. My yields from hydroponics are consistently triple that of soil. Hydroponics also seems to eliminate the problem of them becoming root bound. Hydroponics is also a lot simpler and easier, once you have the basics down.

im gonna pick one up in a few weeks, just for the strains that need room to grow, its a simple flood and drain unit, you will grow monsters with it for sure

dwc was my second choice, with all the word about air pumps goin out and killing plants within hrs kinda veered me tword ebb and gro, i figured a couple of my girls would bite the dust on the switch.lol.
