Newbie first grow, please help!!!!!

Hey guys this is my first grow ever! I ordered and received my seeds (10 northernlights seeds from nirvana) and I'm all set to go. I just prepared some paper towels for the germination process and they're germinating as we speak. My first question is, I'm thinking about starting them in jiffy pellets and then going to transplant them into a different pot. I'm using a small closet stealth setup and my only question is, after they reach a small sapling size from the pellet, what size pot do i put them into? I know that I'm going to have to use a 1 gallon pot eventually for flowering and everything, but I can only fit so many in that little space. Should I start the veggies in smaller pots (like 6 inch pots) and then once i determine a sex proceed to replant the females in a one gallon ?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would replant them when I'm ready to flower, but it really doesn't matter.
For me, when I experimented, I used a small pot and a 1 gallon pot from just a little sapling, and it came out to the same thing untill a good 3 weeks since I planted it.

But then again, I'm not a pro :?

General rule of thumb is 1 gallon per month of growth. I'd skip the peat pellets and just put them in a normal pot with soil. You use something small to start out with, transplant to something bigger and right before flower switch again to 3 or 5 gallon bucket is the norm. Supposed to give the plants growth spurts because they are getting fresh soil and more space to spread their roots out to go searching for water. Otherwise you just start them in a 5 gallon bucket and use it the whole grow. That is what most do.

I would not say most people have their starters in 5 gallon pots. I agree with the one month/one gallon rule. I just start them in 6 inch pots or so then move to half gallon then gallon, then 3 or 5
if you start it in a huge pot it can promote root rot and that is not what you want at any time and considering you have a cutty closet for the babies i would keep em in smaller pots so u can blow up the closet to max capacity.
