Quick Vent Question...

hope everyones doing smashing...

Got a quick one for you all. I would like to vent out my grow to the attic. I need to vent my light that is on a 6" inline fan as well as a 6" carbon filter with a 6" blower. Both on different lines and controllers. My question is can I "Y" them out to the attic threw a 6" hole or do I need to split them up? It would be perferable to me if I didn't have to cut a second hole, but don't know if having them going out of the same place would cause a problem with "back drafts".

I welcome all suggestions! :joint:

Thanks to all, plenty of great info on RIU!, +Rep to all who can help!

You can probably Y them. It will cut down on some of the efficiency unless you use a larger duct for the final run to the attic. If I understand you correctly you now have two 6" duct lines that you wish to vent out the attic. By pushing two 6" ducts into a Y you will create some back pressure unless you use a larger duct, maybe a 10-12" for the final run. Good luck with your grow.
