hey guys i just called wal mart and the only perlite they have is the miracle gro perlite, i was wondering if this perlite would ge a good choice, has anyone ever used it and what is everyones opinion on if i should get it or not, the reason i believe i need it is because when i water my plant the water just sits on top of the dirt for like 8 seconds, ok thanks guys

if that's all you can get then buy it, weed loves lots of perlite (it lets air down to the roots) You can recycle it after by dumping your soil in a tub of water and skimming it off (it floats !)

I just started using Miracle Gro perlite as, like you, it is the only kind i could find. Anyway, it seems to be workign well so far. It does have some nutes in it, but not too much i don't think. I would only probably worry about it if the soil you were using also had nutes and it was going to add to that. I made my soil with cow manure compost, peat moss, perlite and dolomitic lime so no additional nutes to start with. Anyway, hope this helps.

I haven't had this problem with my special plants but I do in with my house plants. I noticed it a while ago and started to add perlite and leave my soil looser. That seemed to work.:peace:
