Wat is the proper way and most efficient way to vent and cool a grow tent room? HOW WOULD YOU ROUTE THE DUCTING? WOULD YOU PULL FROM OUTSIDE THE TENT (WHICH WOULD BE IN A HOT ROOM ) OR WOULD YOU PULL AIR IN FROM OUTSIDE WHICH WOULD PROBALLY BE HOT TOO TO COOL THE HOOD AND BULB AND THEN CONTINUE TO RUN THAT UP IN THE ATTIC OR SOMTHING OR STOP THE DUCTING RIGHT AFTER THE HOOD???? i have a 6.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 grow tent and a 6 inch inline fan that pulls 306 cfm and some ducting and a hood with openings, hope to hear back from someone, thanks

Does anyone know or have a idea or seen a drawing of a ducting setup

allways vent the heat out, and make sure to have a good air exchange rate....

dont be a prat like me a close the door to the window area ^^ hahaha totally overheated otherwise would of been ok..

hope that helps, how i do it.

thanks for replying, how do you make a painting small so i can upload it on here and show you guys my idea!? it wouldnt let me upload it cuz its 500kp and i guess it can only be 19.5kb

Anyway im pulling air from the bottom of the tent through the hood and out the tent to the outside! so that gets rid of the heat from the hood! Now im thinking i need another inline fan to suck right above the hood and out the tent! or should i have air being pulled from outside to enter the tent???????

Look at my setup, Im doing 2 600w Hps(1200w) in a grow tent and I am cooling both hoods with the highest cfm 6" inline fan blowing the hot air outside the tent-and on the other side of that is the charcoal filter bringing clean air through the hoods, while acting as the exaust as well. Intake is done with a smaller cfm 6" inline fan that has a nylon on it acting as a filter so clean air only enters the room resulting with these temps:
Day/72F Night/65F hope this helps

Is your grow tent in a room??? So your pulling air from inside the room that your tent is in and pulling it in the tent through the hoods and out of the tent or out of the entire room (outside, attic)??? And that ducting in the picture is a exhaust blowing air into there from outside or outside the tent in a room??? sorry to ask so many questions im just waiting to find a correct way rather than mine to run and switch into flowering because my plants are getting too BIG

the reason I cant show you is cause there is too much stuff in the way to get a good picture. Yes i am pulling in cool air from outside the tent(the room the tent is in) and expelling or exausting clean/hot air outside both tent and room tent is in.

this is as good of a ventilation diagram as i have ever seen... thnx al b...
yes this will work except one problem u will always have is the light hoods are gonna get really dusty and will prevent about 10% of light distribution if unclean. I suggest you filter ther air before it goes through the hoods so you are not always leaning over your crop trying to clean the dust in your glass every week!

o ok i thought you just didnt want to show me sorry lol. so did you look at my pics^^^ i have a inline sitting on top of my tent and im intaking right there on top and exhausting through the hood and out through the window thats right behind my tent! So i should be intakeing from my room and not outside right? sorry i have so many stupid questions im just trying to get it right and understand! thanks + rep for u guys

Reading 108F at the exhaust point at my window and reading 88-93F in the tent

should i get another inline besides the one thats cooling my hood or is my 6 inch 306 cfm good enough for my 240 sqft room?

No, there is no such thing as a stupid question; if there were then we would all be perfect and we're not.

So this intake air of yours-first off you should know that hot air rises leaving the cooler air at a lower level of the room. you should try putting your intake fan on the bottom of your tent, pushing cooler air in the tent but you will also have to exhaust the volume of your tent in under 5 minutes. what I did was started my intake air @ the bottom of my tent with a nylon on it acting as a filter. next i hung a charcoal filter connected to the lights(using 6" duct), the lights connected to a bigger 6" inline fan that is connected to about 16ft. of 6" duct, that goes outside the room that the tent is in. did that make sense?
Oh and another thing you should focus on is lowering the temp that goes into your tent in the room -and if you set it up like how I got it you will eliminate the need to get two filters or cleaning the dust outa your hood cause you didnt filter this air first. your temp goal should be 75 F @ the level of the canopy

heres a pic i drew, is this how i should have it? is that what your explaining, im kinda confused but think thats it! filter through the hood out the tent and room! and get some air in the tent from my room with a nylon filter and ducting and a booster fan or actual inline fan?? thanks so much man
