The budget for the solar is about 20K, that is the ballpark price we got from the guy. That is for enough to power the house and the cottage. We can finance it and the payment will be about what we are paying now for electricity. It doesn't really make any sense not to do it. Especially with the rebate and the tax write off (30% of the total price).i have a similar setup. i exaust through a carbon filter into a room with an ozone gen. works great. solar panels...sweet. whats your budget? any idea on strains?
I haven't gotten much info yet, a friend of a friend is setting it up, he sells systems. I told him what I wanted and he is doing the rest. All I have to do is install a new roof ! I am going to get the spec later this week and I'll post them.Hepa filters are great! Your set up sounds sweat! Have you seen stinkbuds tread, grow a pound every three weeks? It uses a system based on the aeroflow design. Its very interesting to say the least. It is also in this months hightimes.
How many kilowatts does your solar system generate? What type of system is it? Im currently looking into solar. The turn around is not like it use to be!
I didn't put the oscillating fan in the drawing, there will be a couple though. In my attempt at not coming across as being too anal, I left out the fans and also forgot to add the CO2 generator. Upon further reflection I realized I should vent the portable AC into the garage. Not to the outside, for obvious reasons. I updated the drawing to reflect these changes.I think your design is great. 6000 watts for 2 AF60s is going to produce some killer buds. The only thing I didn't see in your design would be oscilatting fans for air circulation. Also, are you going to be using Co2?
I'm about to start a similar grow myself. 2 AF60s and four 1000w hydrofarm/hortilux lights. I'm going to seal my room and use Co2 though. The air that vents my lights will come from the outside, go through the lights, and right back out the other side of the 15x8 room by way of two 250 cfm inline econo fans. I will have an atmosphere controller hooked up to a portable A/c in the summer and a heater in the winter. For odor I will scrub with a can 150 combo. For air circulation I will have 2 wall mounted 18" air king oscillating fans.
Have you grown before? I've heard these Aeroflo systems can be touchy until you get them dialed in. Definitely a learning curve involved from what I've gathered.
The site kept crashing before I could upload the picture.I didn't put the oscillating fan in the drawing, there will be a couple though. The placement is not anywhere close to scale, just an idea of what I will have in the room.
I was thinking about adding those ice box light coolers, I am still a little fuzzy on the reservoir size though, I have posted on line but haven't gotten a response yet.
Do you think the HEPA is necessary? Is a carbon filter necessary if I am venting into a room with an ozone generator?
I have not grown with the AF60 yet, I am planning on starting off slowly though, just to work out all of the kinks.
Any other thoughts? I love having people to bounce ideas off of!
Portable a/c will suck all your co2 out through the wall imo. Split a/c is better. You might still have humidity probs towards the end. Get a building drier (dehum used on construction sites) and run through humidistat and contactor. Domestic dehum won't do as your girls will be transpiring gallons late in flower. I have run aeroflo on similar size room. Some tips; Rez they come with is too small. Becomes unstable and has to be changed too often. I used 100 gallon tank for a 56aero. You MUST MUST MUST keep rez temp below 20 degrees or pathogens WILL grow in water and turn your roots into a stinkling brown mess. Water at 18 degrees holds far more dissolved oxygen than warmer water. Roots love this, pathogens don't.Get some pythoff before you start in case you get problems. I used it all the time just in case and it worked well. Use an aquarium chiller to keep rez temps down. Run aeroflo pump via a float switch in rez. If a sprayer pipe pops off(and they do cos they are push fit) pump will shut down before rez empties onto floor.I've been there and it ain't pretty. Get a spare pump. If pump goes down girls are toast in 24 hours. I have had best results using half the sites. i.e thirty plants in a sixty pot aeroflo. Don't veg too long as they really do grow at a frightening rate in first weeks of flower.Don't be afraid to prune up to week three. General tips; Use ro water. Everything is more predictable and you don't have to change rez so often.RO filters are cheap but you need a butt to store water as they work really slowly. Get auto shut off kit for it. PH is much more stable with ro water. I used the Lucas formula gh for years with great success. Its simple and it works. Asklucas thread on cannabis-world.org is a master class in hydro.Print it out and read it through. It may not all make sense at first but as you gain experience it will fall into place. As you are dialling in your room you will have a lot of things to deal with so choose an easy to grow strain.Better to have a good crop of something reasonable than a shit crop of designer. Change when you have your room working right. If you are using magnetic ballasts you will have a massive surge of power on switch on. Might even dim the lights on your street. switch em on in banks-20 mins apart. I would use 600w digis myself.Spread light better and more lumens for your watt.Less surge. I would only use 1000s for big plants at low density which ain't the aeroflo way!! This post has turned into a book. You can do it but it won't be easy. Read read read. PM me on aeroflo if you want. Its hard to find good info on em. When they work right they are a sight to behold. Stay safe. PapaCAny thoughts on the updated drawing?
