MJ Crescendo's White Berry Closet Grow - 150w HPS

Well, I figured it was about time for me to get started on this grow journal. I have been looking forward to this for quite some time and I have begun. I ordered 1 white berry seed from att... and they sent me 5 free power skunks. That part went smoothly and I even used my regular address and info and all, so don't hesitate people!!

I got my fox farm ocean forest soil in today and this stuff looks deliscous for my babes. I germinated the white berry which is feminized and one power skunk which I am hoping is a female. I was only planning on doing the one white berry anyways, so it really doesn't matter to me.

I don't know the dates exactly, but lets just say the white berry popped out of the soil on the 18th and the power skunk is behind due to slowww germination.

I am currently using 2 T12 Fluorescents to veg with for the first week or two. I will add some supplemental CFL's once needed.

I figure that is enough for now and I will show you guys some pictures in my next post. I will prob update as often as I change something to the grow so subscribe and I'll do my best to keep everyone entertained. :weed:

O yes, this is full organic grow and I will be using BMO organic nutrients during flowering. I believe that FFOF is 'hot' enough for most of veg. :leaf:

The first picture is from my previous grow and it was the last remaining nug.

The rest are the current grow setup which should be looking a little different as time progresses. I know nothing is too interesting yet, but in time..

For anyone interested in a white berry smoke report, this is one I found from Email468 (a fellow RIU)

http://www.skunkskool.com/index.php?showtopic=565&st=660&p=39675&#entry39675

Paradise Feminized Seeds White Berry
Type: Indica/ Sativa (75/25)
Flowering time: 50 days indoors.
Yield: 400 - 450 grams per m2 indoors.
Effect /Buzz: Happy, lucid Berry Smell/Taste
THC: 15-18%

White Berry is very fast to flower and particularly well suited to sea of green grows. This is model marijuana, slender and medium in height, with fresh green good looks and a single-cola dominance and homogeneity between the plants. The calyx-to-leaf ratio is good news for weed manicurists, because she is easy to trim.

White Berry becomes bejeweled with trichomes that frost her buds, and she generates a decidedly berry perfume. White Berry's hybridized genetics create a complex and versatile smoke. The typical result is a crystalline Sativa head high. But when smoked in higher quantities, an Indica-style body stone comes forward.

Tokers who smoke lightly throughout the day, but want a deeper stone at night, may find that White Berry meets all their needs in one attractive, easy-growing package.

Some info on my free seeds. They are not feminized and I am only growing one out so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

G13 Labs Power Skunk

Variety: Indica / sativa Mostly sativa (75%)
Type: Stabilized hybrid
Flowering Period: 8 - 9 weeks
THC Content: 15%
Characteristics: Easy to grow strong sweet taste

It produces dense buds varying in colour from light green to golden with a very high yield. It is easy to pruned due to its high bud-to-leaf ratio. It has a sweet smell and taste with a cerebral high. A must for any grower.

im doing one church fem seed and a power skunk from g13 also. ill stay posted . they are just 2 days old so youre one about the same time frame as me. im also using 150watt hos but im using 2 for flower or i might get a 400. anyhow good luck ill be checking in again soon

Just putting an update for everyone.

The power skunk is coming up quickly and has some nice skinny leaves (second picture). The white berry is staying a little lower and getting some fatty leaves (first picture). They aren't really doing to much lately, I figure they are working on root growth primarily.

I am not sure when to move them to larger 3 gallon pots with the FFOF soil, but I figured it is still too soon. Any recommendations would be nice. I am sure they will take off like crazy after they hit the 'hot' soil.

I turned the HPS light on today just to give a little supplemental lighting. It is no where close to the plants so it shouldn't have too much effect on them. The fluros should keep them from stretching out I believe, since they are within half an inch. Check out my pics and let me know what you think about it so far.

Keep it Real :peace:

What up?!
I got tired of keeping them in the shitty soil that I had before and decided that they were mature enough to go into the FF OF soil. This stuff looks tasty and I see why MJ loves it so much. (WB Left photo) (PS Right photo)

I put about 2 gallons of soil in the 3 gallon pots so there is still some filling in room to do. I was banking on them stretching a little more, and then I'll fill over the stem with soil.

The white berry has a pecuilar yellow tinting on the leaves since the transplant. I did accidentally tear one of the roots a little and I think she is recovering. I haven't seen much vertical growth and I believe that they are just doing a lot of root work. The power skunk seems to be enjoying the soil and growing even faster then the white berry. I hope they thrive in this stuff soon enough.

The last picture is my new weed star bong named Mr. Li. Once filled with a fat bowl and tons of ice cubes he really puts out a lethal hit. I've taken two and been done so I'm quite impressed.

Feel free to comment or ask me about anything that I've done so far. I'm looking for some major vertical growth in the next week or so, so keep a look out for an update.

This is about 2-3 weeks into the grow and I wanted to put up a picture update.

I am loving the difference in the way the strain's look. I wish I could veg faster so I could kick them into their flowering stage. They have really been lovin the FF OF soil lately and look really lush. I still haven't purchased nutrients, but I'm planning on getting some BMO organic flowering nutes and skippin on the veg nutes. I hope this soil can handle them for veg.

Keep it Real :leaf:

So I adjusted my setup a little bit and I am quite happy with it. I decided that I definitely do not have enough veg lighting at this point and I had to start using my 150w HPS. I have all my lights on them now and should be putting out around 20,000 lumens that are scattered everywhere in my closet. Hopefully they are getting sufficient lighting on there new 12/12 schedule.

Hopefully, within the next week or two the power skunk will show its sex and make me happy. The white berry is feminized so I am expecting to see some pistils quite soon.

They are about 6 inches tall currently and I hope to see them around a foot and a half soon enough. I also had to put them into flower due to the fact they need to be done around 4/20 for the celebration :bigjoint:

Feel free to post.

With the 150w putting out tons of extra lumens for them they have really taken off. The power skunk is stretching a lot, but it seems to be filling out nicely. The white berry is looking really full and lush lately.

I just got my BMO nutrients last week and started using them. I have flower power and grow it green. They seem to be enjoying it thoroughly.

I figured I would just do an update every week. As far as I know power skunk takes forever to show its sex so I don't know when I'll know that. I am hoping to see the white berry show its feminized side in the next couple of days. Neither have really showed any pre flowers as of yet. I guess I just have to be patience. As far as I can tell my timer is about 12-14 hours dark so they def. should be feeling the flowering effects.

Not sure what sex the power skunk is, I don't really see any pistils nor do I see any sacks. I think I will definitely be able to tell within the week.

The white berry is looking great so far, the lower leaves are yellowing a little bit, but I think I fixed the problem. I will also know within the week.

The power skunk has been chopped down. It was taking too long to show me any pistils so I assumed the small sac like craps were balls. They were almost impossible to find, I was very surprised it didn't show a better sign of sex. Either way I do not have time to wait for it to show anything bc its so far behind in growth.

I am only growing white berry now so she is gettin all of my light. I think she is going to love it. I got some pics up of the modified setup and the bud sites. Enjoy!!

I watered her today with a small mix in of grow it green and a higher dose of flower power. I think she will really like this for the next couple of days. I am watering her about every 3-4 days lately, her roots are really dryin out the soil fast.

I redid the setup and put her about 2 inches away from the HPS. I woke up today to see slight burnin on the top bud canopy. I have lowered her down to about 4-5 inches and I think she will enjoy this much better.

I figured while I had her out I would get some pictures of the bud sites. They have been doing fantastic lately and everyday they grow more and more. I can only hope that her cola gets big and fat over the next month.

White berry is advertised as a 50 day flowering, but she looks no where near ready. The bud has been swelling a lot lately and the growth of the bud is tremendous on a daily basis. I have switched her to complete flowering nutes only and molasses every other watering. I think both of these factors are fattening up the bud.

Only problem, which may not be, she is having a lot of yellowing of the lower leaves. I assume she is just sucking out the nitrogen and stuff from the leaves and the lower bud sites seem to be doing well anyways.

Well enjoy the bud pictures, such a great strain :peace:

Wow I haven't been on my grow journal in a while. Been getting to many hits in harvest and curing. Well may as well finish the picture session up on this one. The flowering stage lasted for 65 days and she is currently in one week of cure.

The trimmin was super easy on this strain and I really loved the plant structure (single cola). She is definitely a small yielder and I will only get about 7 grams dry.

The smell has a berry/fruit to it and after touching the bud you have a lemony scent on the fingers. It is fantastic and I really love it. This is some of the best stuff I think I have ever had on me and can't wait to smoke it.

I highly recommend this strain to anyone and had a good time growin her. I can't wait till future grows :peace:

These pictures are just some of the many I took of the progression of the grow since my last update. Hope you enjoy them!

Ah very nice to see some white berry. They look fantastic so far. Personally at that size your lookin at about 1/2 an ounce a plant, from my experiences. I personally would veg till day 35 at least to maximize size. You always could start then, but what I learned from my grow is that vegging for ample time will yield the greatest results.

I flowered for 65 days before I chopped her. I don't know how much longer you have to till you need to be done growing, but plan on at least 2 months of flower before chopping.

Any other questions are welcome. Hope this helps :peace:

Yea I think your right. I ordered some botanicare pure blend pro bloom yesterday so it won't be here till monday anyways which would put me @ day 32 so I might as well wait another 3 days from then. Im just so darn excited. The little one is gettin transfered to a dwc 5gal bucket today. (she is a skunk not WB) and wont be ready for flower for 3 or 4 more weeks. I just wanted to start her so I got a good sativa flowering while Im curing my indica. I love botanicare-LIquid Karma, Cal-mag, Pureblend pro grow and bloom.
