Nutrient burn or Deficiency

My plant is about 2weeks old and is burning around the edges. Lighting:24W CFL----Potting Mix: Miracle Gro----Space: closet----Strain:White Widow(or so they said)----Nutrient Ratio:6N_3P_4k

the plant is still in a small pot, I was thinking about mixing the potting soil with the dirt in my backyard to reduce nutrient content.

If its Nutrient defficiency, how do I increase the certain nutrient without increasing the others, or should I replace the potting soil alltogether with a better Nutrient Ratio?

also, the stem bent pretty bad, but I covered that part up with soil so it would stand,

2 weeks from seed then its either burn or ph related. sounds like you burned em'.

You can't just keep feeding them.Jeesh.

my girls get fed every 5-10 days depending on how established they are.

you can feed every day if your nutes ask for it like mine mine get feed with a perfect amount of water and nutes each day

well Im actually growing in and outdoors, I only use the CFL at night to provide 24h lighting....dont know what to expect from this since this is my first time trying it.


ALSO: I need to point out the nutrient ratio was from my fertilizer not my soil.....the soil ratio is edited on the original post and here as well

Roots don't like the UV rays. Cover the outside of the pot with black tape if you can. Black will absorb the light and turn it into heat so all will be good.

Roots HATE heat. They like a cool dark envrioment. Hydro and soil.

Roots don't like the UV rays. Cover the outside of the pot with black tape if you can. Black will absorb the light and turn it into heat so all will be good.

Bake the roots, and you bake the plant.

You "heard" I have the expierence. Heat is bad. Epecially the sun. Ever been in a car with the w+indows up an no ac in the full sun. HOT. Like a greenhouse. Healthy roots=heathly plants=nice BUDS

Re-pot or cover up with black tape your roots will hate you if you do not
do this and they might get mad and you don't want that

Kinda odd that stores sell heat mats to induce root growth then.

Roots do grow more vigorously when exposed to a warm temp. You never wan't hot and you never want cold. A good 75-85 would be idea for root systems.


AND!!! You should have a heater in your reservoir if your doing hydro. Water can get quite cold when its in a dark environment.

They sell heat mats for cloning, not growing plants. If it was too cold then yes.

we have some brown leaves and yellow spots on our plants. We are using BMO nutes during our waterings. What is the problem? Any ideas?

Gonna have to disagree man, I grow hydro and my temps and most others I know get too hot and we need a swamp cooler or a water cooler of some kind... ideal temps for hydro is between 65-68F for maximum amount of DO and to eliminate potential of root rot.

Heat mats work well for germing too, little seeds like a little moisture and warmth.

EDIT: sorry thought he was growing hydro!

Those temps are way to low. You are shocking the roots with the cold water. Yes pythium has less of a chance of taking control in cooler temps. You are talking about the water temps in your resivior, and 70 is an ok temperature. But That is still cold and will shock the roots of the plant. 65 is way to cold for hydro. You should actually have a heater in your res.

Would you reccomend him to chill his water before waterings then? He is in soil not hydro.
