grow going ok couple questions

i started this plant about 2 weeks ago and there about 3 inches tall and i just switched the lights i have 2 big cfls both on it and about 2 inches away and ive been watering it about a cup a day cause the pot. now the plant is growing really slow im not really seeing any growth increase and the leaves on it arent looking as healthy and the stem is turning purple

the pic with the 2 plants in it is old and there is only one there now

whoa there hoss, time to slow down with the water. you are waaay over watering. a cup a day is too much. you are going to rot the roots right out. don't water for the next two - three days.

that reflector you have is good. get that baby right over top of your plants, about 1 - 2" away. they look really stretched out. do you have a fan on them? they need some air movement to strengthen their stems. where are you growing? get some more lights. check out this part of the FAQ since you are growing with cfl's: https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq&cmd=article&id=587

im growing them in the closet and i usually leave the door open a lil and the celing fan circulates air i have a box fan but it blows really hard i didnt want it to fuck it up, how much should i water them its in a big pot and should i water the plant stem or around the sides

you have a ceiling fan in the closet? i would go to walmart and pick up an eight dollar personal fan. perfect for closet grows.

you should only be watering them every other day right now. maybe less. give them a quarter cup because they are still little. wait till the soil is totally dry. if you've been giving them a cup of water every day for the past few days you need to give them a lot of time to dry out. roots need to be trained to move down into the soil to look for water, that how they build a strong root system. just get some good light on there and let them go for a bit. they will take of themselves.

ok thanks dude i think i might have fucked it up watering i to much its has like purple stem now and it also is like getting top heavy and i have the light right on top now but its like faling over a lil not real bad
