well, i can take 2 pics right now, both of 30 inch tall vegging plants, 3 hydro, and 5 or 6 that tall in soil, both in same conditions, same room, side by side, from seed, the hydros are 5 weeks older, and way more dense with growth. my soil stretch, my hydro i need to thin, to keep from molding it up.
i am sold on hydro right now. my 3 in hydro, are hempy pots, and works great for me.

We bought a start up kit cause we were pressed for time. But the truth is that DWC is worth it. You know exactly how much you're putting in and how much is left. Its a much more scientifically precise system. Check out our scrog.I will drop by when I get a minute. Thanks much!

Did you see the plants? My screen is rockin man. Hope you saw the pics on the last page.
Anyways... I agree with all that hydro is best and can be as complicated and as hard as yow want it to be. All the way from pretty darn easy, to complex as anything. I bet there is only like a 10% yeild difference from the basic hydro setups to full blown ones. And I just mean the hydro... I'm sure a bad set up environment with the best hydro on earth couldn't yeild what a great environment would. Blah, blah.
I really think I need to get a perpetual harvest going on, just to give me something to do. Not like life isn't busy enough, but as far as growing the plants... I can't take this waiting. There is nothing really for me to do for them anymore, between rez changes. I mean I check the levels and see if there are any fan leaves to be tucked, but other than that nothing.
On a good note I have tuned the closet to where I can keep the door completely closed all day with not temp or humidity issues. Not that I need to, but I think I could close the door for 3 days and never look at them and everything would be fine.
Videos tonight.

hey jig hows that ph/ppm meter doing for you? I have a ph hanna hand meter and it sucks always going out on me i think its messing up again. I was checking yours out and i think that's the next step up beside the one at my local shop trying to sell me that goes for over 200, And i just had my ppm meter take shit on me the display goes for like 30 secs then fades away i even got a new batteries nothing so i will be looking into a new one very soon i don't know if i will have a new one to finish this grow with but still going to have to get one for the next one so starting to look around and see how every one likes theres. Yours has to stay in the res ?? once you get two rooms going your going to have to be able to check both rooms or are you just going to get another unit ? I heard that the hand ones like i have even the ppm meters like i have are shit they are the lowest witch pisses me off cause with both together i could have got a nice one wasn't thinking
........ so yea if you could let me know the pros and cons on the meter you have that you experienced since you got it.
and how does every one store there meters i had mine in a cabinet with there caps on.

Do the perpetual, i hate waiting too, do some observations on your journal when its done so you can figure out a rough schedule on when to take clones. I do it every time i switch the plant to flower, you could just look into keeping a mother. That might be easier.
Yea ray was on my journal earlier i think he's making his rounds as well. On the journal front, i think i'm going to update every thursday and sunday, i thought updating everyday wouldn't be enough of a change from one post to the next, any thoughts?
Oh man thats nice about the tuning of the grow. When mine hit that sweet spot all the weight and burden of not being able to figure it out was lifted immediately. I bet you could leave yours for a week or so if they we're drinking so much, i've left mine go for about 5 days and everything was fine.
I'm looking into/designing full automation of my grow right now. I'm trying to get it to the point where i don't even have to open the doors other than the few things that can't be automated, like harvest, checking trichs, taking clones. Other than that i don't want to physically do it anymore. oh and on that subject i'm thinking about an automated emergency disposal system. Meaning the cops are breaking down my door for some reason and i push a button that torches the whole grow to ash. Hmmmm i wonder how hard it would be to build a grow chamber that you could torch the inside but the outside is unharmed... oh the possibilities
or is that just the weed talking.

Word dude, doesn't matter how long you grow it, its always too long
And no no, you're screen is not rockin, my screen is rockin. What your screen is doing... there are no words for it. Its simply amazing Jigfresh, absolutely fuckin amazing. A good scrog grow always manages to impress. And talk about precision set up!! (Hence why Hydro Scrog is awesome!!!). If only we got to tend to ours every day... Its quite a set up to aspire to man. Love it, man. Keep it up.

What does it smell like in there? Have you seen Jordisgarden's grow with 64 plants? He says it smells like being hit in the face with huge a wet nug... though not necessarily a bad thing

I'm doing nothing for smell right now... don't really need to. I'm guessing they will start to smell more in the coming weeks. As of right now... you can only tell if you are coming in from the outside. So like when my wife comes home from work, she says it smells a tiny bit like pot when she comes in the front door.
I have bought however some activated carbon from petco. It's the stuff you use to filter fish aquarium water, but it works for air too. I'm just going to throw that stuff in a tube and hook my exhuast fan to it.
Nutes I run the full Dutch Masters line plus Gavity, FloraNectar, and Cal-Mag.
I'll take a picture.

not to steal a thread or anything but when plants are growing in a confined space and you smell that great smell when you walk in what is that smell exactly what are you smelling. how does the plant produce that chronic smell? is that a sign of thc? what makes the smell?

I'll have to send the wife away for the weekend so we can blaze it up, haha.
I never thought about having to use my meter in different places. Now I feel like a dumb ass. Not sure about that. As for how I like my meter.... I love it. No complaints. I think it cost me $140. I should be calibrating it, but I can't get it out of the rez, so I don't do anything with it but turn it on and off, and read it of course.
One thing about keeping the ph meter in the closet is it might get hot and might get direct light (not good for electronics of any kind). Also, it might get humid. I would keep it somewhere else if you can, or at least keep it on the floor of your grow room where it is cool and out of light.
I wonder what I get for the prize if I set a record. Maybe a Roll It Up t-shirt, haha.
My whole plan originally was to start a mother and perpetual harvest everything. That is originally bought the 250 mh was to use in my veg area. I am going to get a mother going after my trips to England and India. I figure after those two trips we will be having a kid pretty soon after and I will be home all the time to watch the plants. I don't want to be halfway around the world worrying that my plants will survive. So untill then I'm having things be so that there are no plants while I'm out of the country.
I don't think there is any need to update daily. You will probably be talking on the thread daily as things come up or people have questions. I know I do it daily, but that is becuase I'm kind of obsessive. My wife would probably leave the 'kind of' out of that statement. Twice a week is good in my book.
And I love the emergency automation. You could totally do that, I would think you would just need a good cinder block wall surrounding the grow space. No biggie, right? I might imagine getting in trouble to be better than burning your house down. But that is a tough call, jail or homelessness. Either way your wife is pissed.
I doubt home owners insurance covers burning down your place while trying to cover up the illegal grow you have, ha.
