Drooping seedlings

These two plants were planted on thursday. Now, the one plant is drooping dramatically, and the other seedling is starting to curve to one side. I used Jiffy windowsill greenhouse planters to start the growing and have yet to have to water the packets. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am so new to this, it isn't even funny.

get the lighting..........if your using any, 2" away from the plants.

if not, get some lights. if your trying to use the sun, they're stretching for it.

yeah its most def the lights you can tell from the stretching... you need to lower your light a bit depending on what lighting you use. Make sure to look it up CFL's can be close to the plant typically about 2 inches

Thank you both for your reply. Weird part is last night I placed the seedlings under a florescent light (about 3inches from the taller one) only to wake up the next day and find what you saw in the picture. The light bulb is one I got from home depot. Its a blue tinted "agro" bulb. I will put the light back on the tonight as close as possible without burning them. Keep your fingers crossed.

So I placed the light source about 2 inches away from the plants, and checked in on it after 2 hours. The one seedling is now drooping so bad, that its touching the ground!! Does anyone have some advice????

I have had the same thing happen.

If you're growing them in dirt then get em out of there. Put them deep into 1 gallon pots. Bury the stem to the point where only a couple inches are sticking out. Then give em the light they are looking for. Do that and they'll be fine.

i def agree with the above post get them into soil so only a short amount of the stem is showing enuf so it wont droop over

I have the exact same problem after doing the exact same thing. My plants had pretty low light for the first 7-10 days after breaking through. I got a 250w blue cfl and put the plants about 8" under it. They were fine the first day but soon they started drooping just like yours. Leaves were fine, no yellowing.

After reading as much as I could on the web I've decided it's just shock from the change in light intensity. I've raised the lamp about 2' above the plants to let them get used to it, then I'll lower it gradually to about 8-10" above them.
