PSMH in HPS Ballst

I want to burn a MH light in my 150W HPS ballast. I understand that if you remove the ignitor from the ballast then you can burn a Metal Halide bulb in there of the same wattage. However, they don't seem to make (Probe Start) MH in the 150W variety.

They DO sell PULSE Start MH bulbs in the 150W variety. I understand that the PSMH ballast also uses an ignitor. Would I be able to burn one of these bulbs in the HPS ballast?

If not, could I remove the ignitor from the HPS ballast and burn a 100W MH bulb?

I gave it a shot and it didn't work. After checking the specs on a PSMH ballast and my HPS ballast, the arrangement is the same but the there are differences in the ignitor and capacitor specs. The PSMH has uses a capacitor with a 17uf rating verses 14uf of the HPS. Also, the ingnitor is the PSMH ballast is a 2ft max BTL (ballast to lamp) distance, the HPS ignitor is rated at 10ft. I will install an on/off switch on the ignitor and use a regular 150W MH bulb. I didn't think they made them but found them at this site: http://www.expresslightbulbs.com/metal-halide-light-bulb-p-20.html

All i know is i use a 1000 watt hps and i put a 1000 watt mh bulb in and have no problems.
But that does not work for every ballast I believe. Some even have a switch to tell it which one is running (MH/HPS)(i would assume this is only for startup?)
