Wontime you are wrong about the violence going up 10x... Well it might in mexico but fuck it who cares if it over there? Coke, and other shiz has a finite market. The pot market is many times larger than many of these drugs simply because the majority of people will draw the line at some part. More poeple smoke pot than these other drugs, no proof here just common sense.
Looks bottom line is that I would rather see the Gov tax it, and have them keeping the money, than it goto mexico. Every dollar taken from the cartels weakens them. I oppose just about any money going to Mexico be corruption is just how they do it.
So if violence in mexico goes up, I could care less. And we will be saving money on prisoners and making money in taxes. Thats a win,win, win to me...
p.s. - Nothing against mexicans, ALOT against their gov and cartels, not to mention gangs..
how do you tax a product that can basicly manufacture itself, one backyardfull could supply half a town, hows the government gonna legalize it then go searching door to door for people growing their own????
its not a viable taxable product, you dont have to do anything other than grow it and dry it, we dont need factories, we dont need a major industry for weed, i grow my own now and would definatley continue before i pay anybody ANYTHING for pot!!!
As for the violence, again, you are not the ones living less than a mile from the friggin border, you dont hear the news and you dont understand what border towns go through, when the river is only 50 yards wide at some points, its not like theres a wall between us!
If we legalize weed we will be flooded with harder drugs, more gang violence, more home invasions armed robberies, there is no industry to speak of in mexico EXCEPT smugglin!!! its already a known fact that marijuana is Californias #1 cash crop, and thats on the black market, if we took that money from the cartels there would be hell to pay, probably equivalent to 9/11 maybe worse!!!!
I know your gonna say " Oh the US military would wipe them out" BULLSHIT if that was the case we would have taken out columbia and peru and ended the cocaine epidemic years ago!!
Addressin the PRISON issue, the prison machine employs millions, between new jail construction and gaurds, they use the prisoners to clean highways, all FREE LABOR, this country thrives when the prisons are full, not to mention if you are sent to prison in another state or city you are counted on THEIR census and considered as a resident of the city the jail is in, therefor, prison cities get more government money even though thousands of their "residents" are guests of the government!!!
nobody wants to wrap their head around the fact, THE USA MAKES MORE MONEY OFF WEED BEING ILLEGAL, than it possibly could by legalizing...
