I think my plant has begun showing its sex on day 36 of veg but this is only my second grow and I want to make sure. Below is a high res pic of what I believe to be female pre-flowers, can anyone confirm this for me?

Sorry Dude, id put money on it being Male - unlike ur Avatar which is definately 100% Female. Lol.

i gotta agree.....but it might not be a male (maybe our collective wishing/hoping will change its destiny) its kinda hard to tell so early on though lol

I'm going with female because I've never seen a male preflower that mature as a a single flower, always a cluster, what is so unusual is it's growing out sideways and those arching side things on it. A better picture in a couple of days would help.

me to i think its a femail because those hairs are white i think but cant realy see but also cuz they are strait not hooks because males in my experence males are hook like not straight

its too early to know.
if its a bulb-shaped flower its a male. if 2 tiny hairs come out - its a girl.
it won't hurt to flower males for up to 2 weeks alongside with females as the pollen is closed in its sacks.
so just wait up and when you have a definite detemenation think of pulling it out of the group.

Thanks for help guys. Since a couple people thought it might be male I want to post an updated pic here with LED turned off and get more of your opinions. If you click and zoom in all the way there is much more clarity now.

Also FWIW I have read several strain reports on nirvana papaya stating that it showed sex as early as week 4 of veg, so it would not be too out of the ordinary @ 37 days now.

Yea i agree you might wanna look for sexing at the top growth close to the crown...in between the new growth you'll see the calax with pistils (little white hairs coming out of new growth)

thoes are just the starting of new branches. you can see the leaves when you zoom
but they look weird - twisted. usually they are pretty straigh out.

my nirvana's papaya took a month and 1 day to show sex. just to help the statistics.

Like i said dude prolly gonna have to wait a few more days and up by the crown is where you'll see the sex in the new growth (because thats where most of the energy is going) So give it a few more days and then give us a pic of the crown and the nodes underneath it close to the back of the new growth. Peace :joint:
