**Will 400 HPS fit in this growroom**

Is this closet big enough for a 400 watt hps... its very narrow and the ceiling angles a bit... but its about 2 ft wide .. 5+ ft long and angle of roof/ceiling effects height >< am i better off going with a 250 watt

personally, i believe i would go with a 250 watt, or maybe even a fixture that utilizes a whole bunch cfl's. if you decide to go the HID lamp- make damn sure you can keep it nice and cool and that nothing in that room gets real hot. i would also line the inside of that space with that panda poly stuff, so that when the light strikes the surfaces it mostly just gets reflected rather than absorbed and turned into heat

give it a shot... what do you have to lose? just make sure you get a hood that will fit inside thte dimensions of your closet, give it some ventilation and your set. Don be afraid.. Laer

I definitely agree with RezzinTehSeahorse... your space is too small. I think you'd end up frying your babies. I just got a 400w MH/HPS system and all the light is great, but I can't close off my grow room without it over heating. And I haven't a clue how I'm going to venilate it without someone walking into my room and saying "Hey, what is that?...What do ya got in there?... Oooo. Can I see?". I haven't the time for all these questions! I was using cfls up til now so heat wasn't a problem. Now I'm wondering what the hell I'm going to do when the summer hits. That's my two cents. Man you can put A 1000w in there as long as you can KEEP IT COOL enough. There is no such thing as too much light

you can try to rock a 400w ..if it's too much change your bulb to a 250w...my .02

What you need to consider is controlling the heat in that confined of a space. I think a 250 would do the trick

yea man windows has this thingy that is an arrow that points which way you want to rotate a pic then hit the button that looks like a floppy disk BAM! then I dont hurt my neck but seriously I have a 400 that gets damn hot in a small closet I have 2 fans going and it barely helps GOOD LUCK

I have always used a 400w in a 3x3 room with no heat problems, but I do have a 4 inch fan on each end going non stop, with another 4 inch blowing fresh air in under the light and another venting air out of the top of the room.

You can't have "too much light" but you can waste light but using more than you need, light IS heat, so the more light you have the more heat you have and you can have to much heat! Vent it out and put a fan right at the light's level to keep the heat moveing away from the plants

thats a good looken cat,may i suggest snappin a couple of his legs off and burying them in the soil, this creates a speed in the plants lifecycle giving you 100lbs per plant

Im with the big cfl fixture. Keep the heat down and still get some good close exposure. But if I already had the 400w then I would throw that bad boy in and see what happens. Keep a good eye on it, try and get sum good ventilation and you never know til ya try! I dont care how good at math you are.

There is such a thing as to much light? WOW! I’ve done this for roughly 37 years now and you taught me something.

If you can have to much light explain how since the sun puts out incredibly massive more amounts of light than any grow light ever could pot plants thrive in the sunlight especially in equatorial regions where the sun is the most powerful due to being more direct.

i have my 400watter in a 2x3x4 space and it gets a little warm. i need to add a second fan to the hood. that way i have one pushing air into it and one sucking air out. right now the temps are around 87 to 90 i think well thats on one of thoes color temp strips, im getting my digital thermomitor today. like every one above me said, if you can vent the heat so it wont scorch the plants your all good.

My temp is always about 90 (with two fans running) and its never had a negative effect on my plants. Drys out the soil very fast though.

No, if your heat is high then your plants lose water faster, higher heat then the humidity should be up, but remember that the plants are alive and BREATH air, so you will end up choking them
if they get to hot and to humid
