any suggestions ? for a noob

Yo RIU'ers please give me some tips help just a little for a fellow toker will help me alot.

My grow space pic attached for an idea how big it is 3.5ft by 4ft 8 ft high

im looking to start growing i have a good idea on what i need and what to do just a noob so not sure how many plants i would get in my space im looking to grow some Snow White and some Ak-48

and wondering how much Lights would be best to use ? i was going to put 2 400 watt MH for vegging then change the bulbs to HPs 400 watt for flowering will this work?

also for getting rid of the smell i was only going to have two 4" inline fans one for bringin in clear air with carbon and one to exhaust it out will this be enough for my size a?

any other suggestions on what to do with my space would be a great help +rep for anyone who helps even a little bit cheers

2 mh and then hps will work just fine for this area. as for the fans just put the intakes down low on one side and the out going fan higher up on the other side so there is an even flow. otherwise sounds good, with 8 feet to grow up you might get some very high yeild plants.

well my opinion if your cab is 3.5x4 then 8 feet tall.. i would split the cab in half having two seprate 4 foot chambers, i would use an mh light up top to veg my plants and an hps on the bottom to flower them. for running the duct work i would have a fresh air inlet on the bottom corner of one of the sides to let air in. cut a hole in the back of the shelf to run air from the bottom chamber to the top chamber, then have it filtered comeing out of the top. at least this is how i did my box and there is awesome air circulation with just a few 80mm cpu fans they just bring air into the box and push it to the top chamber. i use 120mm fans to cool my 400watt light hoods and to exhaust the air out of the box. so far no problems and great air movement.

sounds like youll have a good grow space, hmm 3 gallon pots i know in my space its 2x3x4 and i can fit roughly 6 2 gallon pots with no problem there about 9 inches wide and 7 inches deep. so im thinking you should beable to fit about 9 or so pots in that area. and as a rule of thumb or what ive been told 4 to 5 plants under a 400watt light works well. so im sure growing about 9 plants should be ok for you if your useing bolth lights at the same time.

Nice one im glad all is sounding well and my plan for a crop is coming together im in the process of cleaning out the cupboard and making a hole through the wall into the kitchen were i can have the smelly air go outside through were i had my old extractor in the kitchen. one more question if possible you say 9 pllants is that 1 plant in each pot ? and can you put more than 1 plant in this size of pot ? all your replys has been helpful dude big thanks

yeah i was thinking one plant in each pot, you dont want them fighting over nutes. evan tho there only going to eat what they want. with one plant in each 2gal pot they get to be about 3 to 3.5 feet tall flowering around 10 inches or so, give or take a few inches depending how they look. then again you may also want to start with a bunch in smaller pots. sex the plants kill the males and pick a few good mothers. take clones from them and start your grow in the larger containers knowing your gunna have femails for sure. i hope this helps and every thing goes well for you.

You never want to put more then 1 plant in a pot. If you want more plants it would be better to use a smaller pots... If your going to have 2 4ft high sections it might be better to use a little smaller plants. After you consider the amount of height you lose for your light and the pots, it isn't hard for your plants to fill up that remaining space. Just my 2 cents though.

Yeah ill stick to one plant in each pot as for sexing them i dont know how this works ill look it up and i dont knw how i would recognise the mother plants ? cloning my girlfriend has that under control so would beable to do this if i were to sex them would i still grow my first crop ? i think ill look more up about this cheers buddy i hope it goes well too just looking for biggest yeild i can get every crop from my space

ok as for sexing you have to grow the plants in veg untill you flower, or untill the plants starts to preflower in veg state. but usuly once you start the flowering cycle ie switching the lights from 18/6 to 12/12 or whatever the plants will start to show there sex in like 7 to 10 days. there are plenty of threds on this topic. and in the thred "my first bubbleponics grow" in this section has some great pics at the end of it.. matter of fact here is the link to the thred evan tho its about bubbleponics the last page has good info on sexing and harvesting.. here is the link https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/157801-stealth-hydro-bubbleponics-1st-grow.html
