Hey I just finished building my first grow box. I got a Black and Decker cabinet that is 26Wx15Dx37H. I installed two cheap fans by getting an old cell charger and connecting to a computer fan. One for intake, one for outtake. Then for vegetating the lights I bought 6500k (Kelvin) Compact Florescent Lights (CFLs) and 2700k CFLs for Flowering. These CFLs are 35 watts (aqivalent to150watts) and I am using two per plant. I recommend getting the highest watts possible for these lights so you don’t have to use as many. I also lined the cabinet with mylar which is superior to foil and white paint. I only plan on growing around 4-6 plants in this setup. To grow twelve plants you are going to need a large cabinet or a small room. So find a LARGE cabinet, get some fans (maybe more powerful than computer fans sine your room will be larger than mine), then based on how many plants you want figure out lighting. With 12 plants you would have to buy a shit ton of CFLs or florescent lights. It would be cheaper to buy a HPS light, they are the best for yield but emit allot more heat than fluorescents . Hope this helps, im going to start a grow journal once my seeds from attitude come in and I will post pics.

4 x 8 ft plywood and 8 ft 2x4's, 3 1/2" screws, foam seal it's called "great stuff", hinges for the door, some weather stripping for the frame of the door, a passive air intake and and a small inline fan to exhaust heat and draw fresh air in....that'd probably be a start....
