Got a couple females and need to clone them

Ok I tried to post this in general with no luck, so I shall try newbie land and admit my lack of knowledge lol,

I have got two plants that I am positive are females. They are just starting to flower and I wanted to clone them but there is only 1 lower branch with a growth tip that is large enough to be cloned. So my other option is to take the top of the plant and clone it. I have a few questions though.

1 How is the plant going to respond to me cutting it's top off?

2 How much of the top should I cut off to clone? I read the branches should be about 2 or 3 inches long for good clones, but the only thing I have read about cloning the top is it is called the cola lol

3 Will it stunt the plant growth? They are a bit taller than I want them to be in week 2 of flowering so I am hoping this can help.

4 Is it possible the plant will still grow some branches that are good for cloning even though it is flowering and after I take the top off?

first off u really magged not cloning before u started to flower as it can increase the chances of herming ur plant, plus ur killing the plants growth spurt if u clone it in that week of flowering, also if u take a flowering plant and clone it it can take up to a month longer for the clone to develope a root system because it has to revert back to vegging photoperiod before it will start growing again

exactly what Bong said.
If you HAVE to clone them i would just take one out and force it back to veg let it grow big then clone it

Well unfortunately this is the only way I can do it I am growing small plants with little to no veg time in 20 oz bottles. I have read several posts of people cloning in early flower stages, but as I said I don't have the lower branches to take clones from like they have done in the posts. If I can't clone these to get more females then I have to start from scratch with seeds again and then wait to see whats male and whats female. That is a pain in the but so I would rather find a way to cone these and sine I only have 2 females and only one grow cabinet taking one and putting it back in veg mode is not going to work out :( Don't get me wrong I appreciate the advice, it is just not a route I can go. Oh I do have a separate area for cloning. It's in an aquarium with a fluoro light and an infrared spotlight bulb to keep the temp up. Now all I need is something to clone ... lol
