Well, there are two phases in growing, vegitative and flowering. The vegitative (veg period) is usually 18/6 light/dark, but it is possible to run the light more than that, just your taste really. Some people leave the light on 24 thoughout veg. Some say the roots really grow during the dark, so I like some dark. I ran 20/4 for my veg.

When you switch to flower you need 12/12. And this is very important to not let light get on the plants during the dark part of flowering. The light can make them think it isn't time to flower and they can revert to veg, or turn hermaphadite (half male/ female). This will not kill the plant or something, but it deffinitely messes up the final product.

You should read up on the differnt phases.
When They are in veg. it is necesarry that the plants need to be in complete darkness?

No... it doesn't matter. Some guys run their lights 24 hours a day during veg. I think that is too unnatural and doesn't give them a break.

But if you were to have the thing open in your living room, and just keep it that way, all would be good, untill that 12 hours of darkness needed for flower.

Till then light is good.

here is my setup, I buy 2 lamps with 2 26W bulbs. What you guys thinks? do the light are in a good position or they are to close to the plants? any advice?
I'm not sure, but that may be a little too much light for the seedlings. Others should tell you. To me the position and closeness are fine like that, but I have never started from seeds, just clones.

Otherwise looks pretty good man. I would get that fan you were talking about to just blow a slight breeze over the area. Nothing strong, just a little spring air to make the seedlings smile. But that is not necessary.

You should be good with that setup for a little while.
