yes they are A+

their main strength is the cheap prices of thier lights and the quality

but yea they are good

no agents will come to your door for ordering legal equipment online

where u wanna be carful is if you drive to your local hydroponics store and some overachieving cop follows you home and trys to mess with you

He beats HTG prices (and a lot of other competition) and with name brand stuff, not private label ballasts and hoods.

can you talk this guy down or what???? they looked more expensive to me???
What specific ballast and hood are you looking at? I noticed a new disclaimer about not being able to advertise certain brands due to other companies complaining.
I bought the lumatek 600w @$168, radiant 6" with hortilux lamp or ushio for about $170 total. Some online vendors are charging $80 and up for those lamps and I couldn't find that hood and ballast combo cheaper anywhere, usually starting at $190 for the ballast.

cfls suck.
my last grow was started with cfls and moved to hps for flowering but this time i used hps from start to finish and its 100% better and faster and the plants did not stretch as much going with the hps as they did under cfls and the growth rate and plant development is second to none.
i will never use cfls again(waste of time).
CFLs kick ass for veg :weed:

thats pretty much the whare im at ive got 4 grows and all of them sucked ass in the the weight dept. and i know that theres going to be some body thats going to say thats because you didnt know what your doing. ok fine your right, but ive posted countless post's in the cfl site and didnt get any answers so im moveing on to the good stuff.
i personaly athink that you can grow buds just as nice as with a standard bulb, and how long do you have to wait. it takes for ever to grow with cfl.
sorry just some word vomit

its all relative.

cfl and floros are great for veg....and they do okay to well in flower too as long as you have them right

but if you have the choice to upgrade....hps or more specifically dual spectrum HID is the best for flowering at the moment....in my opinion anyway

I found this thread very interesting.... and I am still torn between HID and CFL's...

I posted this in another thread....

Okay... here is my thoughts for a .. I guess you would call it a 'Micro grow'

Auto flower strain... SOG style...

4x T5 48" 6500K HO bulbs@54W each
4x T5 48" 3000K HO bulbs@54W each

Bulbs are around 5000 Lumens each...

All in the same shroud.. think sunbed style.

Or I can have 8x of the same bulb... but Im led to believe now that a mix and match of both spectrums at 24/0 lighting would be ideal...

Combined power of 432 Watts... without ballast issues...

So... 432W power usage (no ballast), 40 000 lumens (mixed spectrum) nice and close to a SOG of autoflowers at 24/0 lighting?

What do you think?
Cheers!
When I used to do lighting/hydro many years ago.... I used HID lighting always... because simply.... it was strong and effective.. and CFL's were just nothing in comparison...

If I had another large setup.... I would do the same again...

But with my auto flower setup.... I want to use around 400W with the CFL's... but without the unreliability/spikes/warm ups of a ballast... and of course much less heat and everything that goes hand in hand with temperature and HID's.....

So with my reasoning.... could CFL be better than HID in my case?
