switch from flouros to halide?

Hi, I searched alot of the forums but cant find when I should switch from flourescent to halide lights? ihave six fems growing about 1" in peat pellets under compact flouros. when should I switch to my halde/hps setup? Thanks(sorry if this is ? is somewhere right in front of me)

Whenever you want. I never use any form of lighting other than HID lighting. First MH for veg and then HPS for flower.

Hey homie, I think you might have something confused. You only need one switch of lighting, from veg to flower. fluorescents produce enough power to veg a plant all the way until you want to bud it. If you want to use the metal halide too, plug it in and use it from get go.

*Note- You can use only a metal halide for vegging also, with no fluorescents

you can do a complete grow with a metal halide from start to finish.but most switch to hps because of the red spectrum of light it provides during flowering.

I have a dual /met halide and hps 400 watt system, I might as well use it to my full advantage. any more info anyone may offer would be appreciated ...Thanks guys

In that case I would have started them out under the MH. That way they are adjusted to the brightness off the bat and you don't have to worry about it, right now if you add the MH you are going to have to be careful not to burn your plants.

Next time start the seedlings out under MH and switch to HPS when you flower, simple as that.
