IMO, some excellent strains trichs don't get really ready until all of the pistils have turned and most have drawn back up into the bracts (I think)
If you don't see any smoky trichs, it's a couple of weeks out?

It is a major mistake to go by pistil color in any way. They are not at all an accurate representation of the different types of high or stone that can be had by going by trichome color alone. It is meaningless in regards to a high or stone or a combination of each what color the pistils are. They can be white or red or brown or any combination of any color and they will never tell you when is the very best time to harvest according to each individual person’s preference of high or stone or a combination.

Also saying that it could be a couple weeks out, well when trichomes change they can change rapidly and can go from clear to milky to amber to brown quickly in some strains so I would never tell anyone that if they have clear trichomes that they are a couple weeks away from harvest because if they do not check the next day and the following day and son on they could end up with compost.

I have had trichomes change from being clear to brown in several days. It is not an everyday thing but it has happened to me before so I learned to look and to look often regardless of what a previous grow might have produced.

The question mark ending my suggestion would depict "UP TO" two weeks, as in, should be ready within that frame-work.
I don't know any growers who would take anothers word for their harvest window as gospel, to the degree that they'd not check their trichs daily towards the end of the grow.
If you don't want a couch-lock, then obviously, keeping an eye on those trichs is imperative.
I suspect you'll be harvesting within two weeks . . . or so, IMO.
Personally, I've never seen a bud go from zero to too late in a couple of weeks. Sounds environmental maybe, but probably the strain?

Don't forget to start flushing, if you only have 2 weeks left I would start flushing now with just ph'd water. You should be good to go!!

So even for indica's that are supposed to give you "couch lock" you could harvest them a little earlier and get a body high instead? From previous readings I thought the different high produced depended on the strain...?

It does mainly depend on the strain.

It wouldn’t be a head high "instead" of a stone, it would just be a bit more of a head high added to the stone.

An indica is going to remain an indica no matter when you harvest and a sativa will remain a sativa no matter when you harvest it and a cross will remain predominantly whatever it predominantly is no matter when you harvest it.

You can only somewhat alter things, sort of fine tune them, by harvesting when the trichomes are different colors.

An indica or predominantly indica cross will have a higher percentage of CBD than a sativa or predominantly sativa cross and you will not change that by harvesting a little earlier. You will just increase the head high part a little.
