I have a cab thats 3x2x1 and I was going to put a bunch of CFLs in there, but the CFLs do get hot, and I've found evidence that 150W of CFL puts out the same heat as 150W of HPS. So I'm thinking about grabbing the 150W HPS with separate ballast.
Currently I have 48W of CFL and one 34 CFM exhaust fan (I know not much) and it's holding steady at 80 degrees with humidity at 29.
Do you think that if I had a 100 CFM exhaust at the top and the 34 intake at the bottom I'd be able to get away with a 150W HPS (ballast on the outside of course). Maybe with the lights on a 20/4 cycle.
I threw 150w of CFL and incandescent light in there (2/3rds incandescent) and the temps only got to 91 with my little 34 CFM fan at the top. Early tests are looking promising... if only I had the bigger fans right now...
Thanks for the replies in advance!
