i know that plenty of people order potting soils (such as Ocean Forest) online... i went to get two bags of some foxfarms soils... when i go to the checkout on the website, it quotes my shipping at $123!!!... for $30 worth of soil:shock:.... coulda got it the next day for $306:shock::shock:

do any of yall actually pay these ridiculous prices?? or is there some kind of way to get around those ridiculous rates??

I shuffle on down to walmart and get their soil.Yeah, Most folks want fancy soil, but I've never had trouble from the cheaper stuff.

i think you'd have to be outta your mind to order soil online, at least that's how i feel! those shipping costs alone would deter me...somewhere within a couple of hours will carry some dank soil, or just go with the cheapo wally world shit, i've grow some dank buds with that...:bigjoint:

I add perlite, sometimes vermiculite, that's about it.
I buy the cheapest soil I can get. I add all kinds of shit anyway....
There ya go, make your own.Or just get some out of your yard, and bake it for an hour or so at 200 to kill any bugs and other crap...then add to it.
kinda what i planned to do... find the best cheap soil i can and just amend the hell out of it

I buy the cheap stuff and ad perlite and vermiculite. I use fox farms peace of mine and the wormway I go to has a little bag of their own mixture also...a handful of green sand....

organic garden soil, perlite, bone meal, blood meal, peat moss, cow maunure, and worm castings. I get it all at lowe's except the worm castings which I use to get at LBN. Now i order online. Two 30lb bags cost 59 dollars with shipping included

Ohhh learning everyday!!!!!

I thought that pertile, peat moss and vermiculite were already in there.

What other additive do you guys add? I read some on bat gauno, worm casting and other organic stuff.

Im just dont want to mess with things that I dont know much of, but I thought basic soil would be great?

Sometimes perlite, etc is already in there.I just add extra because it lightens the soil,so it doesn't get compacted.I think when you grow a while, you start to tinker with stuff to see what you can come up with...kinda like eating healthy AND taking vitamins on top of that.:blsmoke:

yeah shipping is pretty much the reason to avoid online dirt, with some perlite and a scoop of dolomite lime and some worm castings you have some top notch soil, i would never buy soil online just because of the shipping cost
