ok, ive got a 3x3x3' area, and im thinking of splitting it into 2 sections, one for flowering and one for veg, i found a website, www.e-conolight.com with some pretty cheap lighting. I was thinking of getting a 400W HPS for a 2x3' area, and a 250W MH for a 1x3 area, lights coming to a total of 215$. do you guys think this would be efficent, or should i go with bigger lights, note, that their is no venting but fans no tubing and filters and shit, just good ol' simple micro growing. so like i said an area 2'wide x3'deep x3' high with a 400W HPS for flowering and a 1'x3'x3' for veg with a 250W MH, i am on a budget here, and i just want to know if my setup will get results, THANKS!:leaf:

i see absolutely no reason why you shouldnt get good results. just make sure you go with an indica dominant plant, a sativa would be growing out the top of that box in no time.

It will work with great results as long as you keep an eye on the temp. If you keep the temp down you will be fine. Good luck with your grow!

My Honest Opinion
A 400 HPS and a 250 MH in 3X3X3 space with no venting will get way too hot. I have the lights your talking about and I know the heat they produce.I'd hate for you to fry your babies up.

i was thinking of keeping the 400HPS in the 3x3x3 area as a bloombox, i was going to build a seperate clonebox with the 250W MH in an old kitchen cabinet or something, that way i have more room for bloom and a completely sep clone box, u think this is better?

I think you would be better off keeping the 3x3x3 box for flowering. This will give you more space and not get as hot.

I agree. That would be smoking hot in there, plus you HAVE TO HAVE ventilation coming in and going out.

If your box is only 3 feet tall the plants will have to be kept short. The plants have to be away from the lights I'd say at least 4 to 6 inches unless it's air cooled. Air cooled you'd be good to go.
I would recomend LSTing them and I'd still be afraid a 400 HPS unvented will give you heat problems. I started out with a 4X3X2 1/2 box with CFL's and had some heat issues in the summer.
But anyways if the light is too hot for your box hopefully you can either vent or build a bigger box.

Wishing you much luck with your grow...

I'm using 1 600w HPS inside a 36"x30"x 72" cabinet with a vented cool tube (1 fan sucking and 1 fan blowing) and a vent fan. My temps at the canopy of plants is @ 80F. The window is open in the bedroom to cool the cab down and it's 40F outside. Without ventilation the temps could prove to be a problem.

so the cabinet is 6' tall? how much do you yield/how many plants or clones/ etc, and what containers do u store the plants in, i want to know since mine is just about same size, a little wider, and longer, 3' tall

nope, hardwired, i wish plug in, im thinking of gettting diff lights same wattage, or i might use a 600W HPS in the bloombox, 3x3x3, cool tubes, im also not sure if i want to just get a HPS ballast with MH conversion bulb, or if i want to create a seperate clone box, ya know, i dont know if i just wanna order seeds or just clone the hell outta some plants, what do you guys think?

I think its always better to get a clone setup going. Save time, save money.

By the way how can i learn how to hardwire those lights?

they come with a manual when you purchase them, like i said i havent bought lights yet, im goint to end up getting a 600W HPS for bloombox 3'x3'x3' an use a 10gal 20"x10" aquarium for clones or mabye an old kitchen cabinet with probably a couple 125 or 200W CFL's

with 125x2 or 200x2 CFL's how many clones could i put in their, in a big rubbermaid container or something of that sort?

Clones need about 2-4 in2 of space, depending on how big your gonna let them get. So based on the in2 of space you have you can calculate how many your gonna fit in there
