i didnt say to buy an hps bulb, i wrote the whole term for hps so he would know wut it stood for:hps=high pressure sodium

Certainly this is a logistics thing and there's no sense quarreling over it. My objective was to make certain that no newbs run out and buy HPS bulbs thinking they can just screw them into a light socket like a CFL. HPS bulbs require a ballast and that is common knowledge. But this IS a Newbie Central thread.

I wouldn't have felt it necessary to explain this if you had simply left the word "bulb" out if your original message.
