12-24 hours to crack if the seeds are fresh but can take up to 2 - 3 weeks for older seeds.I PLANTED 20 SEEDS IN THE GROUND TUESDAY. NOTHING CAME UP YET... AM I BEING IMPATIENT?
if they are in soil then it deppends how deep they are?? give them 7 days im sure they will break through the soil in that time.

yea your being a little impatient. When u germinate seeds in a paper towel it usually take 1-4 days for the seed to crack, and another 1-2 days before u see any decent taproots, then u plant them and another1-3 days they will pop from the soil. You just don't see the work going on beneathe the surface. Keep it watered. Give it about a week. If ya don't see anything in a week, week in a half, then ya have something to be worried about.
Until then...your gonna need time and patience, expecially if your working outdoors. You got til September-October buddy.

I planted mine last thursday and I haven't seen a sprout. Just takes time...

The paper towel baggie method takes me 2 days to see a tap root.
Ph'ed water all over a paper towel placed in a baggie. throw the seed up in the thing and close the damp paper towel over the seed. DON't close the bag. Place the bagggie on top of a warm place like a cable box or p.c. Place a bowl over the bag to trap heat. Over night the seed will POP. The tap root soon follows. 100% germ rate for me.
I'm not new to the board. Just a new name is all.
Watch that GT and FDD. hahaha

All i did was sit them in at cup of water and i waited to all of them stopped floating and hit the bottem. I fretilized the ground/soil 2 days before hand then i planted the seeds and watered the dirt. They're in a place that gets good shade and very good light depending on where the sun is

Make sure you ph your water and don't keep them wet.... Just damp.

Your probably not gonna get all 20 seeds growing. The seeds you wanna use are the thick, "beefy" ones...usually brown in color with "tiger stripes" on them...also most regular brown seeds pop too. But defiantly not the lil green ones. Those are immature seeds
yes the soil will be to hard. You best bet to assure outdoor growth: dig a big enough hole to fit a large pot. Dispose of the dirt u dug up and fill the hole with a top soil mix or organic mix from your local nursery or hardware store. Make sure the area you plant the seeds in is an area that has loose soil that becomes spongey when wet, holds water well, and drains well.
But then again pot will almost grow anywhere if the conditions are OK. But anything to make it more suitable for the plant, the more chance of maximum growth with maximum yield. If ya got anymore questions hit me up on AIM: S/N "ActinUhFool420"

for me it takes approx 36 hours to properly germinate and then 24 hours to sprout and start showing some greenery

yea 36 hrs hrs and 24 sounds about right if u purchased the seeds from a vendor, but if im not mistaken he said he had bag seeds and he didnt know if they were old...
I'm on a grow process now, growing bag seed also, and it took from February 26-March 7th before i seen anything pop from the soil (after i germinated in a paper towel and buried the taproot)
I'm just stating from my experience...

Old thread but Incase of a search like me. Takes 1 day to soak. 24-36 hrs to crack. I’ll let you know on the soil pop once planted. Been 24 hrs hopping in am it will be sprouted.

If you planted them an inch deep you may be in trouble. 1/4” is plenty.
