Bent Seedling Stem...Please Help Diagnose!

I had the exact same problem on one of my plants 4 days old. My lamp was not directly above it so it was bending to get prime lighting.

I had a serious stretching problem though so my stems were not good as they should have been.

Well Well Well do i have the answer for you. my plants did the same thing and all i come up with is the light is briter on the out side of the direct shot down ward, of the light balb. So i raised my light and moved my kids around a little bit.I hope i did you some good..

noithing wrong with that plant bro. all plants tend to bend/twist its just kinda part of growing. they all arent gunna grow straight up everytime. just give it time and itll straighten it self up. one thing tho.. it will bend towards the light, so if ur light is on the side of it, put it directly above it.

just for fun and possibly to make the stem stronger, you should put the light on the side. it will bend all the way over to get to it, lol. nvm dont do that with your one light source

btw, they will grow slow until the second and third set of leaves come in, it will grow like you gave it crack after that compared to that first week

i have a good example of how hardy they are. i just walked back in my room and my 12in tall plants were doubled over and the medium was bone dry. i watered them and they raised straight up in 5 min. i was like wtf? i thought i was gonna have to sit there and wait racking my head on how long it would take for them to coem back

I am curious why you have chosen to be 100% soil?
My reasons are, Taste, I do believe you get a much better taste, also I am a Patient grower and I enjoy taking a seedling and watching her go from first small pot to a 3gallon and a long veg (3months or 24"), then moving it to a 5 gallon to flower. All with fresh new soil all the way.I never reuse soil or water/nute runoff. My best havest was 7oz.
I think you should maybe give soil a try, its really hands on.

I just don't think I can go back to soil because you say you got 7 oz's after 5 months? What size light?

It's just that I can bust off a grow so fast in hydro, I guess I just need to go try soil again. I did a soil grow when I first started and maybe it's just unjustly pushed me away because I didn't know anything about growing.

I just don't like the pests as well, seems like I get less problems with hydro. Like I said though, considering it because I think that by the time I get my mothers up to size and I cut my clones and start vegging and flower the mothers the rootspace will be an issue in my current style of growing. I want to dump clones to the dispensaries all summer long and I think I need big mothers to keep me going.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to check on the taste thing, I've never really felt that hydro bud lacked flavor. I have generally just found that bad bud tasted bad and good bud tastes good.

try soil again, its not as bad as your thinking with good conditions. i have no bugs, and i have never seen anything from hydro that cant be done easier in soil.

how much is 50ppm? i beliveit stands for parts per million, but i wanted to add some to my seedlings that are about a week and a half old. thanks

That's not true if you are going to grow this hydro and keep it in rockwool cubes all it's life.

I start them with 50ppm of nutes during the germination.

I am curious why you have chosen to be 100% soil? I have been fighting with this for a little while. Some of the best plants I've seen out there have been soil, but I can really only say that the biggest have been soil.

Is it a matter of size that makes people want to stick with soil? It seems like I can just get better "plant density" with hydro, but I am willing to grow some in soil if there's some kind of benefits to it.
