Keeping your grow safe

Hi everyone ive created a mini guide on how to keep your grow safe from everything such as pesky whiteflys and spidermites to parents and even worse the bronze 5-0 Hopefully this mini guide helps you.

Lets start off with the small and what most of us growers (unless fortunate) have to deal with, such as whiteflys, spidermites, and other insects that are harmful and destroy your crop. There are some ways luckily to prevent these insects.
1- Traditional sprays. Theres lots of sprays out there that can control and contain insects and keep them away from your plant. Some however can be harmful to your plant. Look for a spray that is organic and you can use on flowering plants up to the day of harvest.
My reccomendation that i have used and continue to use is Fungicide 3 in 1 (comes in a turquioise bottle). It controls whiteflys, spidermites, and mold. Its organic also and i use it from sprout to day of harvest.
2- Using bugs against bugs. Lady Bugs are used to eat other insects on your plants without damaging your plant. You can buy them by thousands and yes it really does work. The only problem is keeping your lady bugs around your plants especially if they are outdoor.
3- (for indoor growers) Keeping a clean grow room. It is always good to keep a clean grow room to prevent mold and mildew. Wiping your walls and cleaning the floor with just dishwasher soap and water and than drying it clean can keep out mold and mildew.
4- (for outdoor growers) The indoor growers dont have them but you do, not just insects, but rabbits and other animals that can polish off a plant in minutes. Some solutions are using wolf urine around the area of your plant. Do this once every week to make sure small rodents arent going to eat your plants.
Also using a fake owl keeps away some but not all rodents.

Now that your plants are protected (hopefully) from insects, mold, and animals; you also need to protect them from humans. Here some ways to not get caught.
1-Your grow setup. A good way to keep a grow from the parents and other things is to make a stealth grow setup. A stealth grow setup is a grow that doesnt look like a grow such as a room behind a bookshelf and the most famous grow in a walmart tupperware container. To create a grow container get 2 tupperware containers at walmart, get a nice size also get a size depending on how many plants you are growing. Stack them on top of each other however At the second level, cut a square cutout a little smaller than the bottom of the second container. (they are being stacked on each other obviously). Next line the inside with reflective material and add soil. Use 5 cfls with ballasts for your lighting setup, these lights work nice and use low watts. Run the cords to a power strip inside the containers and than cut out a small slot for the cord from the powerstrip. For ventalation cut 2 small holes aprox the size of half dollars and place a small fan in the grow box (somewhere near the holes however it doesnot have to be exactly where they are) After these steps you should have a stealth grow box that looks like 2 storage containers stacked.
2. Infrared heat sensors. Of course our government watches over us. But there are ways to get around it. High times has a material that reflects and confuses infrared signals making them unable to detect hps and other lighting systems. I havent expieremented with it yet but i have heard that it works great and is reflective on the other side.
3. Your computer. Keep people from getting any suspicion by keeping them out of your computer. There are multiple programs out there that are secure and wipe out files that you do not want traced. If you do not have the money for this software ( i believe it costs 59.99) just get a good internet security, clear your history everynight, and keep viruses out and spyware out. Viruses and spyware can watch what you are looking at and distribute that all over the web.
4. And oF course the most important at all! DONT ADVERTISE. Keep your grow as down low as possible. It doesnt make u sound cool when ure growing and telling lots of people because thats what gets you busted. You cant trust anyone so dont let anyone know a thing, unless you are doing it with close friends. If too many people find out they can use that as blackmail or they can steal them from you.

I don't think you need to worry about heat sensors if you're growing in a small box, in your closet, with a few CFLs :roll:...come on, think about it!! Your home PC would put out more heat. 6 x 1000 Watters, maybe you have cause for concern!

My advice........if you live with your parents............move out!
