Not really...I did just to keep temps nicew and cool...

I would cut your light to 18/6, they will grow faster, save you money and avoid light stress and hermaphrodism. I have learned this the hard way like everything. If you go with the HID lighting, ease them into it with the light up high or the girls off to the side...personally I would keep them under the t-5. I am germing a couple of Ak-48's tonight, after making some bubble hash!

thnkz +rep...the whole point of why im stuck in using the t-5 or the 400hps is cus i dont have a way to properly vent and cool my closet...and its not light proof..thats why im running the t-5 24/0..it elimnates both problem,s and i just leave it on and forget about it,,,,

if i use the 400 hps to veg 18/6 (which id love to)..ima struggle daily with keeping temps cool,and making sure no light hits them on their off period.

so would it be ALOT worth it in veggin with the h.i.d instead of the t-5?

veg longer and if you have a heat problem with the hps you can always flower with the cfl's also. they will work good for flower also.

ok..im pretty sure ima flower with the hps....all Im waiting for is to clone my plants..and flower them once I have the clones all ready....then aftyer i choose my favorite plant,ill keep the clone as a bonsai mother plant....I guess Ima keep vegging with the t-5.....do you think having a couple fans blowing air to the bulb,and moving around around the closet keep my 400 hps cool?ima post some pics of my closet,and where ima have the hps.....

and can ya tell me if itll be possible keeping it cool with ONLY house fans blowing air in there?

if you watched my video you will see that i run a 1000 wtt and just have a fan hanging at light level to blow the heat away. i would do it that way.has been working for me for many grows now.good luck bro.

here are the pikz of my closet..so will just having a few fans in there keep it cool WITH THE DOORS CLOSE....ofcourse Ill try to keep the door open as much as possible in the day,but this isnt an option at night....and then ill have to seal the closet off with some blankets..so will the heat build up too much with the door closed and no air intake?

oh and i added some close ups of my favorte and most healthy plant..should i top her?

no you have to have place for the heat to escape. can you cut a hole in the top of closet door for an exhaust fan to blow out.

hay jazy i think ur think about it to much. when the lights are of u can close the door for no light to get in. a fan on the plants and one growing across the light will be fine. keep door cracked when light is on if u can. check mine out 1000 hps.

oh cheap exaust is threw the cieling with a bathroom exhaust fan to the attic cheap. im installing one 2morrow.

The 400 watt hps will do fine for vegging. I wouldn't buy the mh bulb unless you just want to. for two weeks those plants are growing fast. Growing weed takes time and money man but its well worth it. I'd try to work on a perpetual harvest.

ok..so what if light leaks in while theyr on theyr dark period...my doors are slide doors...so light can def get in...is this as important as in flower..or does it matter at all....so lets say i can manage the temps....will the light coming in through the door cracks affect the plants?

ok..i jsut finshed settiong up the hps..i have my plants under them right now...with a fan in there...ima leave the door close for a while,to test out how hot itll actaully get in there..so far its not too hot with the fan on..but as soon as i turn it off,it gets very hot...i think the 1 fan might be enough..ima post pikz in a little bit...so how much will the power cost to run the hps 18/6?

holy crap..thats more than 200 freaking dollars..will my 400 cost around 100 then?? dam datz alot higher than i though.and thats that ill have it on 18/6...i always thought that itll only be around 15-20$ per month...am i right?

you could cover your closet doors with opaque back plastic during the dark period. you can buy it at lowes

thnkz..ok so ive had the hps running..and the temps stay within the 80-85 temps...right now its around 82 with the doors closed....man im happy on how my setup looks..ima post pikz soon..i think ima just hang some blankets on the door..so no light comes in.

Is this normal for the temps to be this low with just air blowing over the bulb and the canopy??Dam I cant wait to see how fast they grow with the hps.....ill keep the doors open as much as possible...and once it gets dark outisde,ill close and put the blankets...sound good?
