hey guys. i'm finally about done with my flowering box. the box is in a 12x10 room in my basement. their is a mother box in there also. the box is 6.5x3.5x6 with 2 600 hps's in it. the lights are mounted on both sides of a 6" vortek fan all ducted from one side of the box to the other. i have 1 freestanding carbon filter in the room itself, and i plan on adding 1 on the light exhaust. my question is, whats a good fan/filter designed for heat and odor that you can vent to the outside (ducting on both sides)? i also have the option to vent behind my wall because i framed out the basement 12" of the block to compensate for my french drain. do you think i could exhaust there or would it create mold issues. thanks in advance

sounds like a nice setup. HTG sells a good inline carbon can/fan combo. I don't think mold would really be a problem when venting (between the basement cement wall and the ground). Now if the whole room were filled up, then maybe so... if you weren't using a de-humidifier.

thx gambler. i put allot of thought into this setup (except the venting), and the box came out great other than i have to recut holes for the exhaust off the lights (cut it a little to high). i have the whole box lined with omniflect (will never use mylar again) and when the lights are on,, omg is it bright! i think your right about the exhaust. there is enough room behind the wall for the heat to move out to the rest of the basement. i'm adding a dehumidifier and an ac unit this summer, but the funds for this project are getting low, so i gotta wait til summer. do you think my exhaust air from the lights will have any smell? if not, i would only need the scrubber i already have in the room. i'm heading to home depot tonight to get the rest of the ducting i need and a couple more small fans, but i think i should be able to fill her by the weekend. i have 3 moms (2 bluewreck, 1whitewidow) and 8 - 15" clones (bluehaze and mikado) ready to go. that should take up half of the box, and in 4 weeks i'm going to fill the other side with as many clones as i can fit in there. I got 15 bluehaze, 5 ww, and 10 bluewreck inthe ezclone now to fill the space. after that my new moms will be ready, jack the ripper, alaskan ice, mikado, and nebula. i might keep 1 or 2 bluehaze's for a mother also. gotta see how much room i have in the mom/veg box.

damn... i hate hearing about all these strains i'll prolly never try... much less grow. As far as light exhaust smelling... it just depends if it draws air from the room or outside the room... air that has never entered the room would be best... but given that you are exhausting the heat between basement walls... I don't think any odor would be particularly detectable anyways. Can never be too safe though.

those strains are only a mail order away my friend. i've had mikado (just got 10 more beans) for some years now and the ww and bluewreck were given to me. i put 2 orders in around christmas from attitude and hemp depot and both came in a week, and my buddy just gave me some 2 ak47 clones to try out, so now i'm stacked.
i have the option to draw my air from the main basement area if i need to, so that might be something i'll try. i wont really know how bad the smell is until i get some in there. if i finish the ducting tonight i'm going to fire her up for a trail run for a couple days to check the temps and make sure all is good.
