I have just been letting my plants drink up full premixed gallons.Im using Fox Farms nutes.
what i have been doing is adding the nutes to the water at the beg of my "week" then topping up the res whenever it gets low (even a little) with just fresh distilled water. then when my new "week" starts i just add the nutes to some water and dump it in. now i was thinking that doing it that way would just dilute the nute strength in the res when i added water. so today i pre mixed the nutes in a gallon and used that to top up (almost half a gallon). i figure that way my ppm's will stay the same? i could also be horribly wrong. the feeding sched says feed with every watering. but then on the bottom of my chart i got with them it says to top up res with fresh water between res changes. but it says to change the res every other week. i feel like id go through a my whole res and have no nutes in there. or do the plants absorb all the nutes they need for the week. gah, typing this now i feel like i added way to much nutes. what to do, what to do!?
yea i think im just gunna keep refilling them when it gets low with my nute mixture. no burnage yet and i dont like to let my roots get out of the water for some reason. they dont seem to like it.When you refill it with the same concentrated ppm water/nute mix thats fine, you just refilled what was consumed.
all good i appreciate the input
Alrighty folks were a week and a day into flowerin and feelin fine. the girls are looking absolutely beautiful with hairy little nug babies popping up all over the place. trimmed a few of the bigger fan leaves cause they were yellow and dying. i also took a few leaves off one of the plants main cola's cause they were deformed and retarded looking. not sure if that was a good call or not. this last week i have been topping up with pre mixed nute water and things have been going smooth. i think this week im just gunna let it run out before i change it out and clean out the res next week. enough rambling, sorry the pics arent the best. still using my cell phone.
the bunch, i wish i knew what kind of seeds these were!again, tryin to get a digital camera soon. these pics dont do the ladies justice.
i keep having to up my PH. even if i havent added water. (the water i do add is phed any way) why could this be?
ill keep y'all posted

thanks! thats kinda what i was thinkin. i read everywhere that MJ roots dont like to be too wet. but in the AG i dunno. it seems like they like it when they are swimming. what do you water them with when you do top up? i might just top off with fresh water till next week when i change the res. till then.Congratufuckinlations! yeah.. you dont want to top of with frsh water because it changes the consistency of nutes that are in there... you want to keep that the same so you dont shock the plant.... and probably get mad droopy. Like Lurk said.. just pre-mix the shit in a gallon and always pour the same mix into the rez.... with freshwater you are diluting the rez water and it wont be givin the plant the same amount of nutes....thanks! thats kinda what i was thinkin. i read everywhere that MJ roots dont like to be too wet. but in the AG i dunno. it seems like they like it when they are swimming. what do you water them with when you do top up? i might just top off with fresh water till next week when i change the res. till then.
