They GOT ME HIGH and i even posted about it a few weeks back... everybody told me that YOU CAN NOT GET HIGH and ITS JUST A PLACIBO AFFECT.. but i knew i wasnt trippin.. so i smoke the tops every day now and get a buzz going....

I just choped my male plant down and im going to dry it out and smoke it all or make honey of it.. for tonight ill smoke the tops and get high

Funny, I just read in The Cannabis Grower's Bible; 2001; Greg Green that the male plants do contain THC and depending on the strain, it may be more potent that a female of another strain. It recommended that you make butter and oil from the males as smoking them is very harsh.

Is Greg Green a liar or are you guys just throwing away the males because its all you ever done?

I doubt anybody set out intentionally to pass false information!!! More like people have just became acoustomed to throwing their male plants away.

How do you make oil from the male plant?

Yeah i don't think these guys are purposely giving out false information. Just like greenearth5 said.. i know as well that i got a buzz from those male flowers.. it definitely wasn't a placebo effect. The strain was 'aussie blue'. I think like malbulja implies.. it is the taken thing to throw away male plants with the reason being that they are apparently useless and hence it is the held opinion that there is no thc in male plants. YES the smoke is very very harsh. I think instead of arguing over the fact we should celebrate that yes there is thc in male plants and hence people should stop blindly throwing them out.

Looking at it now; I actually have the 2003 edition.

A Word About Male Potency

"In general the male plant is considered inferior. This, however, may not be true in all cases. Male plants from some strains can produce more THC or be more potent than females from weaker strains. Most male plants from good genetics are stronger than the Ruderalis female. Males can also be smoked or made into hash oil. Simply wait until the plant shows its sex during the flowering stage of the life cycle, described in more detail below and then clip the top 6 to 12 inches of the male plant away and remove the leaves. Throw away any stems and branches. Cure these leaves and find out for yourself if the male is any good or not. You could be in for a surprise!"

Hope this helps

You're not properly responding to my argument. I agree that male plants DO have THC, but most people still throw them out (knowing that they contain THC) because it's not worth it.

If I plant 20 seeds, veg em for a month, and begin sexing, then I want to identify the males as soon as I can so they don't pollinate the females. I don't put the males in a separate room so they can continue flowering, I throw them out. At that point in the early flowering stage, there's virtually no THC, so I'm not gonna smoke it. I'm not gonna do anything but throw it out. Why?

Because out of those 20 seeds, I got 11 females and know that I'll be set in two months. I don't need nor want to smoke males nor would I, even if I had no weed. It tastes like shit. So don't think we throw out males because we're unaware. We simply don't want them. No one does. Try going to Amsterdam or Vancouver and finding male flowers and leaves...

I respect the fact that males need to be harvested so they dont polinate females. Fair enough it makes sense. But if you are growing bush you can move it away and let it mature then smoke it up. As for trichromes.. perhaps there isnt enough research into male cannabis sativa plants? I'd love to see some good research regarding this topic. thanks for the +rep greenearth5! I'm gonna make a song called.. 'i smoked a male and i liked it!' by bongie perry
