Thanks for the reply, I understand the cash issue, growing is rather expensive until you make some crop harvests, but definitely when you get the opportunity check those technologies out. May I also add that the smart pots with higromite as a medium are perfect for flood and drain since they aerate by their porous nature, as well as air prune the roots, and with higromites water retention and porosity, it seems like a winning combination I'd love to use one day. As for the never knowing if your tent was toxic, well if you don't have a vent fan pulling air through and even then if you did from the stories I read of the cheap spray on pvc from the same chinese factory that mass manufactures all these tents which are the same design basically franchasied and rebranded, then if you had it your plants would be dead, really from what I read its mainly an issue with the white pvc ones in production and was a localized issue, the Homebox people had them take it off the market however individuals were buying up the left over toxic ones, rebranding them and reselling them at full price knowing this issue existed. From what I've seen these tents look like a newer rebranded Homebox, which is great. I'm glad to hear that the build is solid, I'll definitely up date when I have mine set up and my next crop ready to show.
Ya that dose sound like a great grow with higromite. Im tottally doing that for my next grow with another journal about it

Another update for everyone. My nutrients are going up today to about 800 PPM and the heat dropped to 79F so everything is looking good. Im starting to get a little skunk smell in the room and it smells amazing (why would anyone want to hide that J/K) I might be going to flower somtime within about a week to another week and a half because i only have about 35 inches of grow room that i can spare.
Comments or Suggestions are welcome :weed:

motoracer, thanks for checking mine out. Your set-up looks a lot like my one attempt at hydro in hydroton. Good luck to you. I screwed mine up. I should dig those pics up. I had a constant drip in one gallon pots. Was awesome until the third week of lower. Some kind of burn happened, I don't know. It motivated me to try something else, in any event. But the growth during veg was unreal like you are getting, I do know that.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

thank you Grow. haha thats crazy im starting to get very little burn spots on the leafs as well and everything is in check so im not sure what is causing it. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and see what happens. I think that im going to try a different system on my next grow. I like how everything is setup but no matter how big of pots you get you still get some roots that get through the bottom and dry up. so i might build something that looks like this picture i found on RIU a few weeks ago for my next grow.

Can you explain one simple thing which I cant not seem to understand.
How does the water from the single dripper reach the roots? I mean the roots are in the middle of the pebbles & the dripper is delivering water to the bottom of the pot, even if the dripper is on the same level as the roots the clay pebble do not retain the water so how are the roots being fed?

Im asking this question because soon Ill be transplanting my clones in my "4 pot Atami Wilma system" which will be filled with clay pebbles, & I just cant figure it out. Please can somebody explain.

Hello ilove thank you for stopping by. I started out the plants in Rockwool which absorbs a lot of water and kinda distributes the liquid throughout the rockwool. when the plants started to show the roots in the bottom i then planted the rootball with rockwool in the pots and covered all of that up with the hydroton (pebbles). I then placed the dripper just below the top layer of pebbles next to the Rockwool where the rockwool then distributes all the liquid to pretty much the whole pot. The roots will also grow more towards the water source and where the water exits. I have even had roots grow up in the drip system kinda crazy.

Did you place the dripper under the rockwool cube or above it?

I placed the dripper on the side of the rockwool cube just because im pumping a lot of water to the plants, if your system only drips with little to no pressure i would place it on top of the rockwool.

Thank you so much, I asked this question more than once in other categories of the RIU forums but no-one has ever replied maybe it was a silly question.

One more question: how far away do you place your HPS from new clones?

for a 400 watt i place my light about 13 inches away from the top of the plants. if it is freshly cut clones place it about 16 inches away from top of plant

Finally got my girls into 12/12 flower :bigjoint: I wish they would all just be girls. I did a totall flush of my system and added the flowering nutrients and my PH rose to about 6.7 so added ph down and got it back to 6.07 I totally forgot that my HPS bulb burns a little cooler now my temp is around 75F which is really good  I waited until my plants got to 10 inches so they should be about 35 inches when done.

I also went to my hydro store and purchased sliding mounts for my light so i can easily adjust the height. I would highly recommend them, they are called EASY GLIDERS
