Tell me about it bro. I've been dry for the past 4 days and it SUCKS! Haven't been dry for more than 12 hours in 4 years :( definitely a shock to the system. I'm in desperate need of THC!

btw how are you quick-drying your "sample" buds?

well, i never do any of that oven or microwaving bullshit to dry, i just hang it in a dark closet for 1-2 days, this gets it pretty dry, then i burn it down.

yeah I don't even own or "trust" a microwave.

I just left a few popcorn buds on top of the ballast, and will hang dry the larger bud for 1-2 days.

I'm using a Canon EOS 40D with 60mm macro lens.

But i also took this trichome shot with my smaller "point and shoot" Canon IXUS 960 and a 30x loupe on the lens. Maybe not as pretty, but definitely does the job and beats using those loupes and microscopes.

OK guys, I couldn't take it anymore. so...



I chopped one of the NLX today; the one closest to the HPS. It was by far the most mature with quite a few amber trich's and really yellow foliage.

This works great, as the NLX will probably yield a lot more than the Bubblegum which were supposed to be my daytime smoke. This should balance things out :bigjoint:

I'll let the rest go a few days.

Yeah we should be smoking our own goodness in no time :D

I actually removed and cut-up the popcorn buds while trimming to make some good ice-o-lator hash once I harvest and dry the rest. The next 2 weeks are so exciting!

yes we will my brotha....i plan on using some of my popcorn buds for hash too, i already have them and the high quality trim in the freezer. what hash method you going with? you got the bags? is the ice o lator that machane? i'm gonna try the "gumby" methold for the first time. i gathered all the supplies to make it today, sooo exciting...shit, this will be my first time making hash, besides pressed kief hash, my other grows i'd just give it away!! the time has just about come, the time that we all look forward too...happy harvesting to my switzerland pal....:bigjoint:

so you just put all the trim in the freezer or dry it out first? It would be much easier for me to just freeze them. Have them laying out drying now...

I just got the small (5 litres) Iceolator bags that consists of just two bags; 220 micron and 70 micron. I'm not a big hash fan (yet) so but I don't wanna waste all that beautiful resin.

They do have a machine, but it's kinda pricey; especially for the size of my op. I'm just gonna throw in lots of ice and cold distilled water (come to think of it, i'll make distilled water ice cubes!), throw in the trim in saturate 'em with a cake-mixer for a good 10-15 mins.

Actually if i can freeze them overnight then do it the next day, I should have enough hash to last blaze while the harvest dries and cures. You've given me a great idea!

So straight to the freezer or let 'em dry a while?

hmm, i say we dry em for at least a couple days, get some of the nasty shit outta there then to the freezer they go...i'm pretty much doing the same thing just with no bags, it might be a little lesser quality, but it will do the job forsure...if you haven't watched it, check this out, pretty incredible, i'm doing this exactly as he does except with wayyyy less trim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kbCtKE2Ghk

let's just say I'm more than impressed with the results so far :bigjoint:

admittedly the buds are a bit fluffy, but then again I chopped this plant at least a week early

It's honestly better than anything I've copped here in the last 2 years and I'm totally blown away by the results of my first grow thus far :weed:

Goodbye commercial weed :-P
