hey so i got ma hps under a few plants and i basically started off with the light 18 inches away then down to 12 inches. after that i never moved it again and now the plant has just grown into it.. the plant hasnt shown any sign of heatstress its just got used to it.. ive been told 12 inch is optimum length but i was also told to get the light as close as possible..
any thoughts i was just wondering if its gonna hurt the plant in the long run its in 2 weeks into flowering now i may jus leave it at 12 cm and carry on moving it up with the plant from now keeping the light that far away..
lemme kno!

I keep my 400 watt hps lights 8-12" above the plants. If my growroom is really full i might keep em higher a bit 12-15", so i have more spread.

as far as i know it should be fine as long as its not too hot. although the plant will grow into it pretty quickly and you definitely don't want it touching so you'll just have to keep moving it to be safe. Also if you have multiple plants make sure that the light is covering enough area. with it so close to the plants the light might not make it to the outter plants(if you have any of course) but yeah as long as its not burning the plants and the light is covering your area adequately then i don't see any problem

nope, i put my thermostat next to the tip of the plant and it shot up to 85, is that really bad? because when i put it back to half way up the plant its stays at 75...
