Get a soiless mix, I'm telling you it is really good and it drains very well so you wont have as many dampening issues.

I agree but I would add that they stretched for a reason and that has to be a lack of light so even if repotted deeper the lights have to be lowered or the pots raised so the plants and lights are closer or else they will just stretch again.
i already told him to lower his lights.

I can't see any fungi on your plants, fungi in the soil isn't bad thing, the roots and the fungi have a symbiotic relationship.
