I did not see anything in the FAQ or guides that allows you to secure the video feed. All you are doing is forwarding the video signal to a global external IP address, which means that anyone who hits that IP is going to be all up in your business. You would be better off setting it up to run only locally, then use something like TightVNC (free) or PC Anywhere to log into your PC, then view the video. This way, your not broadcasting your business to the world, but you can still go on remotely to take a look at your stuff anytime you want.

The video feed is secured by the security level you set for you router/gateway, it is no more or less secure than any other remote access systems. It needs to be hooked up on your LAN as an internal IP address. As long as you are firewalled and have good password security on your router, it is no more or less secure than any other device on your network. No one can hack into my Tivo or my file server both are on my home network.

So basically if you're "borrowing" your neighbor's internet signal, this is not a good idea, correct?

You would need a private home network that you can firewall. If you only have your neighbor's to use, there is obviously no security there since he can't even set up his wireless security correct.
