hi,
what is the quickest way to flower a plant? if i put the plant in a dark cubboard for 2 days, and then put it onto 12/12 would it speed up the change over, or will it cause it to get stressed?
or is the best way just to put it on 12/12 and wait?
thanks.

I germd my seeds for 2 days in paper towel method and put straight into soil (FFOF) and put on 12/12 and its doing great I'll get pics later today. and show you. its about 2 weeks maybe or almost 2 weeks old. :D

I'm assuming that this plant is already established and been vegging for a while? If so, just switch the lights to 12/12 and hang tight. I think it has alot to do with genitics because I mostly grow Serious Seeds brands and they either show sex during veg or shortly into the 12/12. I do leave them in the dark a bit longer only to maintain my schedule but I really dont see any difference....not two days but maybe just a few extra hours for scheduling purpose.

You'll get a much better plant if you give it 18 hours of light per day for a few months before switching to 12/12.

Growing on 12/12 from the start will really cut down your yield, you'll be lucky to get an 1/8 off of it.

The first 4 weeks they are seedlings, after 4 weeks is when vegging begins. If they are only 2 weeks old, they haven't even hit the veg state yet.

^that doesn't make sense. vegetative stage is when the plant is growing and isn't flowering. there's no set length of time before it reaches the veg stage, it's in veg as soon as it breaks the soil.

Not exactly, when the plant plant has grown 2-3 leaf sets it is considered in vegetative stage, which continues until the flowering process begins. 2-3 leaf sets can be achieved in 1-2 weeks from soil break. The seedling is very vulnerable during this time, hence the word SEEDLING.

I treat mine as seedlings for 4 weeks, no nutes, nothing weird thrown at them. By the time they are 4 weeks, the true vegatative state begins. Yes they are in somewhat of a vegetative state before that, but their true vegetative growth begins at about 4 weeks.

If your plant was getting the 16 -18 hours of light per day that it needs right now it would probably be a lot bigger and closer to vegetative growth. It's going to try to flower early and never really hit that veg stage.

If you are giving your plant 12/12 light right now, you are going to stress it out and possibly hermie it. The plant interprets it as the end of the growing season and rushes to try to flower upsetting the delicate balance that millions of year of evolution has created.

Here's a pic of one of mine, it's 5 weeks old, been in a true veg state for about a week now.
