WNY Grow

Anyone grown outside in western New York? I am putting 20 plants outside June 1st-ish if I can.

Would love and region specific tips anyone could offer up to help my first grow a successful one.

Thanks!

You should be able to get them out by may 1st. Im in a similar region. What strain do you plan on growing? Your gonna want something that will be done by the end of september for your area.

lots of deer! use wire cages or something like it when they are young, or else you will just be wasting your time! also avoid any organic nute/fert that say "MEAL" after them bone meal, blood meal these are also feed products for animals, also avoid fish fertilizers, animals go nuts over that stuff, they will literally dig up your plants sniffin out some dead fish/meal to eat.

as mentioned above you should be looking for a strain that finishes end of sept to be on the safe side. but dont limit yourself to just "early" strains, we can usually go to mid oct if its not too wet. hell, in 06 i was doing an exterior painting job in late december and it was like 50 degrees! im sure you know all about the variations of the seasons from year to year in wny! pray for a smooth-n-easy 09!

oh yeah also stated above about may 1st, this is good advice. if i may add to it, you could build a small cold frame to grow your plants in through the second half april or when threat of frost is gone. even better start them indoors until they have a few sets of leaves on them, then throw'm all out in the cold frame for a week or two, as they get hardier and the weather warms start stick'm in the ground/pots? i start all of my seedlings/clones indoors and would never want to risk having baby seedlings outdoors that young and vulnerable, anything and everything will try them out and leave them f@#$'d!

last but definately not least DO NOT PLANT THEM ALL IN ONE BIG PATCH TOGETHER! i only plant 2-3 plants sometimes even just a single plant per spot all hundreds of feet away from each other. choppers look for BIG "mj green" patches, formations, and signs of man like buckets/pots, empty bags of soil, water containers, trash etc. so be clean and stealthy. the other benefit is that if any intruder comes along hungry man or hungry animal only a few plants are jeopordized. you will most likely have casualties that will break your spirit a little, but once you see the rest of your plots intact and doing well your right back up and runnin again! some sort of shit happens every year, a new ripper, a new pest problem, these god damn tropical storms. i plant around 30 and only expect to harvest maybe 20 with a minimum of 4 0z's per plant, thats 5 lbs. but you might end up with 15-20 pounders! beware that this is alot of fucking weed to harvest, i imagine a harvest like that could just about fill a 3 bedroom house lol!

anyway im starting to ramble off topic abit so goodluck man and welcome to rollitupppppp!

peace.

p.s i almost forgot the golden rule... DONT TELL ANYONE, stick around it will be cool to collaberate with someone from the same area, no one in my town knows im growing and it's very tough not to squeak a little when all your shits going great.

Yeah man! Definately, I read and re-read everything and have been researching deer. Thinking about some kind of three prong preditor urine thing. How do you keep the deer at bay?

What else should I watcfh out for?

It seems to me you've already been right where i want to go so any tips or experiences you want to share with me would be wonderful!!!
