hi,

i'm looking into buying an external hard drive for my pc, but i am unsure of where to start.....

i'm going to use it to back up all my media and some programs, just in case my pc decides to die or something.

i think that anything over 100gb would be pretty nice.

what are the main specs to look at regarding hard drives? i don't want to buy a piece of crap which will die on me a few months down the line.

thoughts?

Yea man, go on ebay and you can find good cheap ones...though read the descriptions to make sure the shit works and everything.

They're all pretty similar spec's.
I bought a media player/external hard drive a while back. And I love that thing, it's got software built in to play all movie formats on my LCD-TV without needing to be hooked up to a computer, it even came with a remote lol.

haha, eBay is always my first port of call. been browsing a while... some good deals... i think. the prices are so low compared to a few years back. it's crazy!
