someone said i shuold use about 4 per plant and my 2 hps lights 1 per each....should i listen or no????i just plan on having those to and whats 6000k mean

thats extreeme for right now 4 per plant is overkill at that wattage for CFL anyway I use 3 42W CFLs to veg 4 plants and 1 600W HPS to flower. 6000k is 6000 kelvin its the light spectrum the higher the number the more blue = good for vegging the lower the number(k) the redder the spectrum (light) better for flowering...if u have HPS dont worry bout using CFLs for flower.

my light just looks plain white....what should it look like and what kinda light should i get after 2 weeks???
I think youll be fine for about a month or 1and1/2 months but later on you should look around for some sunlamps or some high wattage cfls. Its all up to the growwer the sunlamps are what I uses because a have 15 of them and each lamp I can grow about 20-25 females . but I an a mad grower

I would really read the faq's at this point it will answer a lot of your questions and more that you probably haven't even thought about.
As far as when to put under HPS thats when you are ready to flower...some ppl start around 3 weeks in I wait until they presex...all depends on how much yield u want.

In the grow room have a white paper , a red paper , and a blue paper whichever one has more light noticed on it or (focused) it gives of more of that color.

...cute trick but if you dont wanna go out and by a red paper, white paper, and blue paper (if u dont already have) here is a lil CFL help...
if the package says:
Soft White = red spectrum
Bright White = white spectrum
Daylight = blue spectrum

Red is for flowering
White is for ppl that got the wrong bulb and wanted blue
Blue is for vegging

1 32 watt light for younger seedlings
2 32 watt lights for 3 weeks or older if you want em bigger and healthier ...
keep em 1-2 inches above the tops of the plants.....
more CFL's can be used but havent seen much of a difference.

Dont use UVB unless you think your plants need a tan!

Hope this simplafies things.

sry no offence meant was a nice trick... never heard of it b4. Hell I always plug the damn things in u know what u got blue when u compare it to a red.... its that happy glow as I call it... when I 1st started using CFLs Id go into my grow room just to look at those bulbs.... it was in the winter and I was missin the sun.

i recently planted a germinated seed and it sprouted within the next 2 days....everything seemed to be going good but then the leaves started curling down...what can the problem bee...open to all suggestions and i have pic if needed...also can i use uvb lights along with my cfl's to grow or should i not???also how is my setup and can i use the light in the picture and if so how many should i get for 1 plant in a pot 1 x 1
What type of soil are they in? Is it pre-nuted? How often are you watering them? Also, CFL's throw very little heat. You should be able to get those lights a lot closer to the plants. Two or three inches above the tops.
