bump, about to post more pictures.

Question, If I do not have access to an in and out venting type system...will a carbon filter still work? Does there has to be a fan system pushing air through the carbon filter? Or just placing it there with a fan nearby will help the smell?

Yes a fan has to be pushing air through or pulling air through. Just putting it in there with no fan connected to it will do nothing. If you have no intake or exhaust and are just looking to control odor look into a Ozone Generator. But you will need to deliver fresh air and remove old air. If you are in a closet and can't cut through the door, remove the door by its hinges. Fabricate a sturdy styrofoam door of equal size out of the thick styro thats used for home insulation in the building of homes. Mount small comp. fans in opposite ends. G/L

hmm...maybe I can fashion a small grow box or tent so that I can hook up the carbon filter.

Anyone have any ideas on how to construct a small, cheap, grow tent/box

1/2" Plywood, 2" x 2" boards, 1 inch wood screws and some Black and White Poly.

Construct a rectangle out of Plywood. Do this by Cutting Four Identical sides to the rectangle, you must determine the size of these sides depending on height of the plants and how many plants you wish to keep inside. I'll keep this easy. Say we're gonna have a Grow Box that 2.5' length x 2.5' width (square) x 5' high. So you cut four sides that are 2.5' x 5' out of plywood. We are not going to have a bottom to this box it will just lift up to reveal the plants, its easiest, the ground will be the bottom of the box.

After you have your four 2.5' x 5' pieces, cut four pieces of the 2" x 2" to 5' long. We are going to use these in the corners to connect the four Plywood sides together. It's a bitch to screw the plywood together without having these in the corners, it will crack and break.

Now before connecting the plywood sides with the 2" x 2" x 5' pieces, line one side of each of the Plywood pieces with Poly (White side out of course)

Connect all four sides of plywood with the Poly sides all facing inside the box, with the 2" x 2" pieces in the four corners. You should have a 2.5' x 2.5' x 5' box that just requires a top now. Cut a 2.5' x 2.5' square and line one side with poly. Screw that to the top of your box with the poly side on the inside and you now have a enclosure to grow in.

If you wish to have a bottom or require a taller box that can't be lifted up to reveal plants. Cut a 2.5' x 2.5' square just as the top of the box and screw in to the bottom. One side of the box will have to be hinged to be a door.

If you are going to do this I will help you in designing the rest as well. Pretty easy too don't be intimidated.

Very nice....heres the the prob. I don't feel like buying the poly online, and I've done lots of searching online to see if there's a store that sells it relatively cheap, and I can't find anything. I went to the Lowe's and Home Depot website and it seems they carry no light reflection material.

Do you not have a local Hydro shop? If not why are you opposed to purchasing it off the net? It in itself does not imply that you are doing anything illegal.

Top View, as you can see I started LST, so the main trunk is all bent, but as a result some of the branches are getting taller than the main cola.

The hydro shop is about 50 minutes away from where I live, and the guys that run it are idiots and joke with customers in an uncomfortable way. As for buying it on the internet, I dunno I just like to see what exactly I am paying for, and how big it will be etc. And I don't need much so I'm not sure how they sell it online

You can get a 25' x 10' roll of Panda Film on Ebay with free shipping for 33.95, which is a good price, the store name on Ebay is sunsethydro. I assure you this is quality stuff and will work perfect for this application.

I think the trick to getting the seedlings/small plants through the spagetti stem phase is just to make sure the rockwool or your medium is not to wet, nor too dry.
