the fog doesnt raise much more than three or four inches before it disipates. if you are using cfls they arent in danger. and you would burn your plant up if you had an hps that close. this has been my experience any how

no problem keep intouch we could probly use each others experience with this new method. when you set up keep in mind that the fog wont penatrate the root mass after its too big so im going to incorporate a drip so the center of the root mass will still get nutes? I think with the combination will be great.

Not really a new method I did it like four years ago  I have had big plants in one of these the fog keeps the humidity at 100% so the roots get plenty of water.

Yeah I'm going to post a detailed thread with pics in a couple months. This website sell the cheapest foggers and they send them with replacement disc's as well.http://www.mainlandmart.com/foggers.html

I use the first model in a float. The system is really simple its just a big rubbermaid tote filled about 1/4 way with nutrient solution, a air stone and the fogger floating. Most of the root mass ends up suspended in the fog. Some of it grows down into the aerated nutrient solution.

I have used a lot of different hydro systems and aeroponic fog has by far the fastest growth rates.

how do you handle the roots getting in the way?

dont they grow down onto the fogger? does it matter? could you pipe it in easily? Do the vibrations work anyway?

lol, answers for the long term! ty:)

Just clean the disc occasionally, you can always find a place for the fogger so it is not covered in roots.

This method works great but only for beginning stages of growth and cuttings/clones. Plants that are full into veg or flowering will drink more water than this sytem will be able to supply in fog. Also, the fog comes out as relatively hot and will eventually lead to root rot for the most part. The only way this would work is if you got a air compressor and very very high amounts of fog, almost every type of fogger simply just does not produce enoughfog for this to work. The only one that might work the entire way through is this:

Not trying to rain on your parade, more like trying to prepare you to not waist your money.

Not a waste, I have grown many large plants in a fog set up. The thing does not generate as much heat as you thing either.

I've never grown with fog, this is just what I have heard. Considering yours is DIY then it must produce a sufficient amount of fog if you can grow plants with it. I'm used to nutramist and all that bullshit, which doesn't work well at all. I'll be waitin for pictures....good luck.:weed:
