Yo yo yo wazzup... I see you guys have filled 273 pages so Far!!! OntheDL, what's your diagnosis of what happened below? Other than I'm a lazy dumbass with bad luck (a few more days I wouldn't of had a problem!!- now at least). BTW, I had to get good and high to deal with this...
First major problem/possible disaster in DWC...
- So I have been using DWC for a while now (started about the 20th of December I think so only about 25 days). I have been lazy and have never done a rez change so that may have been one of the factors (I just did my first emergency rez change, and cut of all...and I mean tons of dead folliage).
I have also been lazy on PH. I Checked the rez several times at the start of my DWC adventure, and the PH would always go up and the PPM down. Recently I was just checking PPM of the rez and not the PH... just adding PH water when needed. Rez got real low so I filled it up and lasted for a while. I kept checking PPM this last week (my water starts at 260 and i've only been going to 450 with nutes) and the damn water kept dropping to 150 PPM, so I would add a bit of nutes (back to 450) and the plants would grow like crazy and PPM would drop rapicly again.
I thought I was the man as I had to supercrop one of the plants DAMN these things are growing like gangbusters I thought to myself "I'm da Man". As of two days ago the plants looked like huge green monsters!!!
THEN>>>today, I look in the cabinet and I don't see anything where the big vigourous plants on friggin steriods Incredible Hulk Style were just two days ago AND don't see almost anything. I get closer and I've got kind of a lump of dead and Dying plant material with some stuff that doesn't look horrible, but at least 60% total death on the 3 biggest plants (the smallest plants actually look ok, they'll be just fine I'm sure).
I was using crappy nutes (I was running out of good stuff and I don't go to the states for another 2 weeks), but (Let me know if you think the same main culprit) the PH HAD RISEN TO 7.8 (could that be that deadly in two days combined with not changing rez).
Hopefully everything pulls through. Looks Like I'll have to work on these plants for a few weeks... DAMN I am havesting and can't even put these in the room this weekend as I planned to flower... THEY WERE FRIGGIN HUGE, over 2.5 feet and All ahd been topped, supercropped, and fimmed- bushes damnit!!! Now they look more like clones!!!!
