Roof space growing in cold places!

Hi, I'm new - just starting my first grow :weed:

I'm growing in my roofspace but unfortunately its quite cold here, average 45 farenheit in the day and 37 at night. There is no heating in the roof space and I wasn't sure if a portable heater is safe up there :?

I have a couple of plants which I took from my old house where I was able to grow in a spare room, thats no longer an option and the roofspace is pretty much my only hope. My plants are mature and I'd be expecting them to be flowering by now but they aren't and I feel its because the roofspace is too cold.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so do you use a portable heater or is there some kind of grow tent which would give enough insulation, factoring in my light which gives out a lot of heat by itself?

Really appreciate any advice!

Portable heater is fine, just go up there often to make sure the plant isnt too hot. I use one in the unheated basement, without it, the temp would be 50. With it, its about 70 in the area around the plant. In the summer though, it can get way too hot up there. Ours gets 120 degrees in the summer.

I have the exact same problem every year when the temps drop. Space heaters give little help as it hardly raises the temps. The important part of the plant to keep warm are the roots, so during winter I dont grow hydro I grow hempy so that I can place my pots on top of animal heater mats which works perfectly well and keeps them happy. I also have lights on during the coldest parts of the day which helps a little also.

im growing in a cab in the garage and its seriously -2 outside today. it gets to about 30 degrees inside garage.. now

with my stoner ingenuity i have my veg cab next to it with the lights on 24/0 added some 4" duct, aimed the fan inside it and whalla, my flowering room gets about 58-65 during the day with lights out, night time 150w hps in a 2x3x3h cab its 78-80 degrees

all is VERY well 4 weeks in flowering

also to keep the heat in that area better, maybe you can like portion the area off with sheets or a tarp or something?

I also have to say if you can add a heating mat or whatever do it. I wish I had one! The area around my plant right now is 75 degrees with a space heater but when I reach into the soil about 2" down, its cold as hell. The plant is probably wondering why the hell her top is hot and feet are cold!
