Hopefully! They just got thrown into flowering so i will see what happens. How long does it usually take to be able to tell the sex? Oh and anyone know what strain these two might be?
It's hard to tell, my guess is a mix sativa/indica? At this stage, leaves exhibit both traits, but I am a noob. Also looks like inter nodes are tight, indicating Indica.
I noticed that you had two different planting pot sizes. When determining which plant would make a great mother, it is advisable to have all of your plants in the same size pot, getting the same nutrients and a good spread of light.
If your specimens are seed grown from a batch, they will be similar, but exhibit slightly different characteristics. You want the mother plant to be the strongest of the bunch, exhibiting desired characteristics.
If these are from seed, you have a 50/50 shot of a female. I wish you had more candidates at this stage. Even if you were lucky and have two females, you only have 2 to choose from. When choosing a mother that has desirable traits, I'd like to have 6-10 to choose from. If your germination rate is too low to support this, review your steps, and if necessary, order from another seed company.
Ideally, a packet of 10 seeds will germinate 6-8 seeds, and 50% of those may turn up male.
I am rambling, sorry..
Forgot to mention, start sexing about 7 days into flowering stage. And if you get a female, get her back on veg timing. It will take several days. Another thought is if this is only two plants you have and you get mixed sex, let em pollinate and make some seed, if this is a desirable strain you have going.
