cfl Q?

i was just at home depo and found a 68 (real) watt cfl in 2700k guess its soft white i was goona use it for flowering would it be ok??? i also found a another type of cfl but its wasn't spiral anyways would the above cfl work for flowering?????

cause i am currently using 4 23w soft white and 3 27w day light so should i just get the 68 watter and take out the 4 23 watt ones????

daylight bulbs are more for vegging and the 2700k are more for flowering because of the redder spectrum and dayligt for the bluer side of the light spectrum i currently use both kelvin temps so i can get a dual spectrum well hope this helps

Ok, 2700k is for flowering, but I believe the W is 42 at the depot, they are called N-Vision, and they are 150W equivalent. The nonspiral is good for extra lighting, but not compressed enough to be the only, unless you've got a bunch of'em. CFL's are better. I use the reg flouros for clones and seedlings.
For sockets, HD has some nice ones with either pigtails or crimp ons. I'll be posting pics of a CFL hood vey soon after I get back from playing in the snow!!

ok so ill pick them up today should i just replace all of them with the 68 watters??? i also saw the tude type cfl (the non spiral type)but they didnt have the color temp on the box

What does the package say? I've not seen a 68w only a 42W. The bulbs are about 6.5l by 3 wide..

try and find some 42 watters with the daylight kelvin temp 6500k dont use all 2700k u want some blue spectrum in there

For veg go to plantlighting.com for 6500K 125W CFL's. You'll need 2 for best coverage.

to flower with better results use about 3 more of those bulbs. for a total of 4 of them. i would put 2 on top then 2 for side lighting. how many lumes each? the lumes are what you want to look at not the watts.

Wouldn't you know it, can't find the # but, here goes.. In the electrical fittings are there will be what they call outdoor pigtails, these are for hanging..About 3 maybe 4 bins to the right you'll see sockets that have a curved wire over the top..like Groelsh beer*s*.. These for multiple lights on one line.. You'll see what I mean..these are the best for price, ease of install. The bulbs are 42WCFL's from N-vision. You'll also need wire nuta and shrinktape for connections.
HD also has 2 and 4ft flouro tubes, these can be monted up and down..for lower branches..
