WTF is this on my plants!!!

I have a beautiful plant but it's beginning to develop some brown spots on the leaves and crisping! I know it isn't too hot as you can see by the temp gauge in picture attached. It was 18" tall when it went to bud room in mid sept 08'. It gets fed 4 x daily, 6am/12pm/6pm/12am again. It's a sativa not sure what strain though. Had two other plants in with it and no problems with it. Hydroponics, Eco-Grower system, 6"net pots 4" rockwool and hydroton cubes. Sure you guys have seen em on net. Funny too is the buds are spread sparsely. The other two plants who have now finished! All put in at same time, had tightly packed buds all the way to the tops but, this one. I don't know. Any ideas advice would be helpful I would hate to see this beauty go to waste on me. Peace all and thank you in advance!

Overwatering/not enough air to the roots or exchanged in the room ... (?)

do you know your humidity?'

It does remind me of a fungus my plants had, but it was very early on, so not sure how it would present itself on a full grown beauty like that.

just putting it out there like you said :D

Also, have you noticed any pests ever?

It's not humid in the room at all in fact it's about at 50% atm, no pests at all, I've fine tooth combed it already w/ a pen microscope even, all I see is trichs, plus I have four fans running at all times and two airstones in the 17 gallon resovoir. Here is the system I use:

Any other ideas that may be helpful. Thanks for replying, sometimes it's hard to get people attention for help so, thanks a lot. Have a great day aliasofmike!

Yeah doesn't look like nute burn to me, but I wouldn't know. I was shocked at how well my plants responded to trimming, they were very happy about it. 50%, is that too dry? I don't have a point of reference.

Nice site, gothic arch, I had run by there before but they have decent prices.

What do you think so far of the eco grow set-up? I was thinking of building something myself in the future. Your's looks similar to the rainforest, but I don't know if it has that semi-aeroponic feeding component.

that is nute burn for sure. sativa's can have a much longer flower schedule, with sparse buds up until the last 3 weeks of flowering and they are also known to hate high fert levels

i would have to agree. it does look like nute burn. a sativa i had a year ago did the same thing, had to take the nutes way back, leaves perked right back up. how long have you had it in flowering? leaves often start to appear dried out the longer a plant is in flowering.

Same shit happening to my baby, it's only a few weeks tho. I'm just about to start new but good luck to you man. Let know if you find anything to help or if it shapes up all by itself.

I was thinking nute burn myself but I've been having to fill the resovoir back to full every 5-7 days, I do however put back in some nutes but I didn't think it be enough to do this. I mean I put in very little to the water I've had to add. That eco-grower has produced me some nice bud. I've just finished a rack from the same place the one thats sick is out of those buds were the same as the sick one and growing in the same thing and it finished and everything way before the big one did(one thats sick) I did have 3 plants in there now just the big sick one the others turned out fine and are some bad ass smoke! That's why I can't figure this out man, all three of those plants were clones from the same mother, including the sick one!? Strange to say the least and a mystery, why would two sisters be fine and one be sick all in the same resovoir using the same amount of nutes, same strain, same everything and only the largest one is ill? Beats the hell outta me. Wonder if I should flush her? Peace hope to hear more soon, still a mystery and she looks worse today. Oh man it'd be a shame to loose that huge ass plant man! Peace all! Thank you all so much too for answering my thread. This site is a great help.

you should trim off those dead leaves IMO

if you aren't sure maybe you should flusher, but if you know you've been low on nutes, maybe she's just hungry? did you back off when you started seeing this happen?

maybe she's actually *sick* like a viral infection. that's probably very unlikely as you've seen no pests.

I think it's nute burn too or, maybe I've been keeping nightime temps too low, I've had some heating problems too and at night it can drop into the low 50's if not high 40's in there. I know it's not good for them but, I haven't a choice atm but to get one of those electric space heaters and keep it around 72 degrees at night. What do you think there aliasofmike?? Can being too cold cause this?? Thank you so much for helping me and all of you guys/gals. Peace and God Bless!:joint:

Yep flush your plants and clean your resovoir completely and that should help. Those cool temps are not good, try not to go below 60

yeah trust your judgement on the nute burn. Not sure if the cold could cause that alone, but honestly from what I've looked at, its a combination of issues, because it doesn't seem like a clear cut case of anything I know. You gotta do something about those nighttime temps though, I got a space heater like you mention from newegg for 50 bucks (free shipping). the cold can exacerbate nutrient problems, cause potassium lock out. Nute burn is a blanket term, excesses of one is often going to cause deficiencies of another. and like I've been saying prune those dead leaves :)

OK, I pruned the dead leaves and cleaned out the reservoir. Plus I tied some of those branches up closer to other branches and have the lil' electric space heater back in that room now. I keep it at about 80F during the day and night time temps are at around 72-75F. Put in the proper amount of nutes and off to the races gentlemen! Thanks I will give her about 5 days to a week to see if she perks back up and those buds begin to thicken:weed:. Thanks everyone, you guys have been great. Wish I could come share some of this killer w/ u guys/gals. Peace and God Bless!:joint:
